Jesus the Christ! The Messiah! The Anointed One!

Hi Everyone~

I am really excited to share today!  Today, I would like to introduce you to Jesus...The Messiah!  Jesus...The Christ!  Jesus...The Anointed One!

I hope that everyone that was part of our Celebration last week has sent me their snail mail address via my email (on the side bar) before Wednesday!  They will be getting mailed out then!  I'm sure you will enjoy those beautifully made cards donated by Michele.  Thank you, Michele!

Today you will find:
  • What "Anointed," "Messiah," and "Christ" have in common!
  • Acts 2:36, Matthew 16:16, 1 Peter 4:11
  • Cards from the 1st He IS Able Challenge Shown Wednesday on our 2 Month Blog-O-Versary! Congratulations!
"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this:  God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."  Acts 2:36

I have been learning so much from the book, Praying the Names of Jesus.  It is written by Ann Spangler , and Zondervan published it!  I have had the book, Power in His Name, by Barbour & Company, since I was first Saved.  It was my second study book.  The Bible was my first.

When I first came to know and love Our Lord, Jesus the Christ, I was so surprised to know He went by so many names!  I found it thrilling to read about the characteristics of each name!  My church, Northland Community Church (located on the side bar, with audio/video services downloaded twice a week), has an incredible stained glass window in the Sanctuary.  I really love seeing it.  It is shaped as a cross, and in all different colors of glass, in all different directions, are many of the names our Lord goes by.  I would think about the names before (and sometimes, during) the service!  I would try to figure how each name related to me and my life.  I feel much closer to Him, when I pray, using His different names, based on what that section of prayer is about.

Do you know people who call our Lord by the name of "Jesus Christ?"  Well, many people use this combination almost as if it is His first and last name.  It isn't!

The word "Christ" means the same as the word "Messiah."  And, they both mean the "Anointed One."  In Praying the Names of Jesus, it says this:

"The phrase "anointed one" refers to someone who has been set apart for a special mission.  That was how the first Christians thought about Jesus.  As Israel's Messiah, he was the greatest of kings, the one called and empowered to destroy God's enemies and extend his kingdom throughout the earth.  His mission was to put an end to our deepest troubles--to rebellion, sin and death.  When we pray to Jesus Christ, we are praying to the Messiah, the Anointed One, whose mission involves calling the world back to God through the power of love."

Isn't that something?  "Calling the world back to God through the power of love."  Do you help build His Kingdom by sharing His Love or His Word?  Do you show him you love Him by praising Him?  How do you show Him you love Him?  Quiet time alone with Him?  Serving Him in Church?  There are many ways to show Him you love Him.  If you want to tell your favorite way, that would be a wonderful blog post to share here at the He IS Able blog!

"But what about you?" he asked.  "Who do you say I am?  Simon
Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Matthew 16:15-16

If Jesus was to ask you this question, how would you answer?  Is He your Lord and Messiah?  If not, please email me, or call a local church.  We would be so happy to pray with you to accept the Gift of Salvation that Jesus the Christ offers you...His Love, His Word, and eternal life in Heaven with Him after spending time with Him, here on earth.  An amazing gift, indeed!

What name do you most often relate to Him as:   Lord?  Teacher?  Father?  Prince of Peace? Great Physician?  How about any of the many other names?  I'd love to hear your answer in the comment section, at the end of today's post.  (You can leave any comment about anything you like.)  It will automatically enter you in the drawing for that beautiful card made and donated by the incredible Dawn B. of My Stamping Thyme.  There is a photo of it on the side bar.

Whenever we learn more about another name of Jesus', I am going to make a card using that name!  Join me if you'd like to!  The next time, I will have a place for you to post your cards.  This will not be a challenge.  It will be for fun and for "praising His name among the nations."

I am so blessed to gift a beautiful card for you to use to carry out the Mission Statement of this blog:

"He IS Able:  Sharing His Love, His Word, His Gift of Salvation through Card Give-Aways!"

I pray that you will use the card to encourage someone in the Lord, or let someone know they are loved, or take that big step, and tell the recipient how blessed you are to know Him, and wouldn't they like to know Him, too?!

As of this Wednesday, people who are randomly drawn to win the card, and announced as the "Card Give-Away Winner of the Week", will have 1 week to contact me via email to receive the card. I will not be able to track down the winner(s), as I tried this week, to let you know.  I am sorry. I would use that time to get to know you, or spend time with Him, or make cards.  So, just check the post on Wednesdays to see if you have won!  Please use my email located on the side bar to leave your address!  By the way, if I am currently holding cards for you now, please contact me by next Wednesday to send them to you!  I'm sorry.  My son's bedroom made art studio...is getting smaller and smaller!  Ok?  Ok!  Thank you for understanding!  I appreciate you!

If you do not want the card for any reason, simply don’t send me your address! No feelings will be hurt, I understand. Really!

On Wednesday, all of the cards that were received for the 1st He IS Able Challenge will be available for everyone to see!  Please send me your blog post URL with the card, or your gallery URL where the card is, so everyone can leave you some love!  Wait until you see the very wonderful cards!

Congratulations to all of you!  This blog will be 2 months old this Wednesday!  we already have 43 "Google Followers" of this blog!  That is great!  If you agree with the Mission Statement, or enjoy this blog, please sign up as a "Follower" of the blog.  We won't be having another extra celebration, but you can all feel excited to share your thoughts, your Testimony, or your Favorite Verse & Why, or cards & bookmarks and other altered items (please contact me for info), or perhaps you wrote a poem about Him, or want to share about your love for Him, or maybe you will tell us about how you serve Him!

This is EVERYONE'S blog!  This is YOUR blog...where you can express your thoughts and feelings about The Lord, Jesus the Christ!  You can share in someone's honor or memory or you can share anonymously.  I will post exactly what you write me.  And, your link to your blog, or Design Team or gallery can be linked to your post!  This will introduce others to your "place."  I ask you to please prayerfully consider this as another way that He would like you to Serve Him and Encourage your Sisters and Brothers and non-Believers, too.  I have been so blessed sharing...I know you will be also!

"If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.  If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus the Christ.  To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.  Amen."  1 Peter 4:11

Remember~
He IS Able,
Traci S.

p.s.  Please take a moment and answer the poll on the right of the blog! It ends tomorrow.  And, if you would, please tell me which name of Jesus you most relate to Him as...in the comment section!

MANY Winners Anounced today! EVERYONE is a winner!

Hi Everyone~

First of all, I apologize. I posted the entire post this morning. I checked it. Saw it...and went on. A few minutes later, I came back into it to change the photo of the "Card of the Week" and the Inspiration for the Day. Easy! The blog post was mostly gone! So, I just re-wrote what I remembered...it is almost noon...and I apologize! I don't know what happened! Traci

Secondly, I would like to thank Rebekka or Becky for sharing such an inspiring
Testimony, and for allowing me to post it on Monday for everyone to see. If you didn't have time to read it. I really hope you will look at Monday's post. It is amazing...and will excite you to go out and share about the dear Lord! Thank you, Rebekka! (If you leave a comment for her or concerning anything else...please leave it on today's comment section on the very bottom of this post, so we can see it! Thank you!)

Today is a BIG day on the He IS Able blog! Lots of BIG news. Lots of Winners to Announce...so please read everything carefully!

"Let us love one another, for love comes from God." 1 John 4:6

With all of the excitement in today's post, how can we not rejoice and be glad in this day that He has made? I hope you all had time to be with Him this day--for your joy will be much fuller when we spend our time with Jesus the Christ!

OK--Enough Anticipation...

Announcing the Winner of the 1st He IS Able blog Challenge!

This was an interesting challenge. If you'd like to see the details of the challenge please look at the post on the August 2nd post. We celebrated our 40th day as a blog together! Why celebrate 40? Well, the number 40 is used all through out the entire Bible! It is an important number indeed. So, we celebrated our 40th day with a Card Challenge! Specific Scriptures were shared on the blog about Noah and his adventure. The cards were made to reflect any of those Scriptures…from Genesis. The winner is randomly chosen from all of the participants who sent their card in. That person will receive half of all of the cards received. I thank each of you for signing up as a “Google Follower” of this blog! Thank you for telling your family, friends and co-workers about this blog. Have you told your husband or boyfriend, or Father? I am sure you would love to have the men in your life go to church with you, and read Scriptures and look at Christian blogs. I am open to suggestions. Thank you again for everything you are doing to “grow” YOUR blog. This is not the “Traci Blog.” This is a blog for the Community! A Very Moving Testimony Shared Today/How to be a Winner on Wednesday!!

Hi Everyone~

Did you make an opportunity to share some of the Scripture from that useful tool with some people this week?!  Believers and Non-Believers, too!?  We all need to hear the Word of God! Amen?  Amen! Will you make it a point to share with one Believer and one Non-Believer at least one Scripture this week?  Let me know in the comment section, OK?  Challenge yourself!  You can do it!

Today please find:

  • Rebekka (or Becky's) Testimony
  • Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 73:24 and Matthew 7:7-8
  • This Wednesday's Winners

I am so grateful that the very talented, Lord Loving, Blogger who shares all of her experiences about her life with Him, has given me permission to share her Testimony with you!  Rebekka, or Becky, as some know her, is an amazing artist, no matter what she makes, you can see her love of the Lord in her work.

On her blog, A Diamond in the Rough, Rebekka shares about her life since she has come to know Jesus the Christ. She touches people's hearts for the Lord--Every post!  Her art is wonderful. Stunning even.  She would be displeased if she knew I was telling you that she repeatedly wins awards. (I am allowed to give her a bit of extra love today, am I not?)  I am especially happy to see that one of my favorite stamp making companies of all time,  Our Daily Bread Designs has given Rebekka the Shining the Light Award several times!  Becky is a Stampin' Sister in Christ also, and she loves it!  They had an incredibly moving blog-hop this week, each choosing their favorite Scripture and telling why they chose that one to highlight and use on their cards or other item.  It was amazing!  If you missed it...please go to Stampin' Sisters in Christ and find it. I have been so blessed!  I feel as if I opened up and I've been crying all week---such a cleansing wonderful way....I don't want any of you to miss it!  Please take a couple of hours, and really absorb what each of these wonderful women have to say...and of course what His Word says!

Here is Rebekka's Testimony as she gave it to me when we had been emailing perhaps twice.  She is answering an email from me. It seems I tend to ask a lot of questions!!! lol

"Well aren't you the long winded child .. My salvation came through great fire. I was born in Germany abandoned at the age of 3, adopted by a military family that brought me to USA when I was 5.  My life was a life of physical and sexual abuse. I testify in churches the power of the saving grace of God.

To make a long story short, at the age of 18, after being on my own since 14, I got a gun and was going to commit suicide. And a voice spoke to me "seek help" and I asked where? the voice said to go to this church, and when I went I took that gun with me just in case there was no one there to help me, when I went in the church I cried out "some body help me" 3 times I cried out on top of my lungs, but no one came. I pulled out the gun and said this is the story of my life, no one loves me, no one cares, and as I put the gun to my head to shoot that voice said "Fall on your knees and cry out to God" I had done and tried everything else, why not, so I fell on my knees and cried out "God, if you are really there show your self to me" and a power hit me so hard, the power of love, liquid love cleansing me, filling me with His love and wisdom of my life why I had to suffer so much.

I have not been right since, that was almost 40 years ago, and my relationship with the Father is as it was when I first got saved. I still study the word of God daily, I even took up Hebrew some years ago and studied under Rabbi Shapiro at the Toro Synagogue in Newport, RI. Nothing heavy, but Jesus was a Jew and I wanted to have better understanding of my Jewish roots.

It gives me joy when I speak of my past, because it shows the greatness of God, it show His abundance in love and MERCY, it shows what He can do with the chief of sinners. I get excited when I speak, because I know there is nothing impossible with God through His Son Jesus Christ."

God Bless you!
Rebekka

WOW!  Isn't that so moving?  And true! Rebekka, thank you so much for sharing this story with everyone.  You are touching so many hearts today! Don't forget, this is YOUR blog, too.  Michele and now Rebekka have shared their stories.  Will you please consider sharing your Favorite Scripture and Why?  Or perhaps you'd rather share your Testimony? Each one is meaningful...no matter what the details.  They are not all as dramatic as Becky's is! OR, maybe there was a time when you followed His Guidance or felt His presence...would share about that?  Just email me the details...and I will follow-up with you before it is shared, to make sure that everything was clear...and just as you want it. If you want to do something else, like write a poem...just share it with me.  As long as it depicts the love and grace and faithfulness of Jesus the Christ.  It will be shared!

And, if you want to be anonymous for some reason...that will happen!   Or you can do just the opposite...share in honor of your Special Day that you came to know Jesus, or some one's birthday or anniversary.  Just please make sure you have permission to share their name and event!   Please continue to share this blog with your friends and family...YOUR blog is growing!

So, what Scriptures can we apply to this Testimony?  How about...

"Fear not, for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God."  Isaiah 41:10

"You wisely and tenderly lead me, and then you bless me."  Psalm 73:24

And, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."  Matthew 7:7-8

Please remember to stop by on Wednesday!  The winner of the beautiful
"Card of the Week" will be chosen...as well as the winner of the very
1st He IS Able ChallengeLots of winners on Wednesday! (hint! hint!)

Please be sure to leave a comment.  You could let me know if you plan on telling at least one Scripture to one Believer and one non-Believer, if you want.  Tell me anything...just get yourself eligible to win a fabulous card! Trust me on this! (All comments must be posted by 8pm on Tuesday night to be eligible!) Wednesday will be a big day!

I pray that you each have a blessed week, where you have the confidence to share the Great News with someone else.  If you haven't already, please sign up as a blog Follower.  Thanks so much!  I love sharing Testimonies with you!

"Card of the Week Winner" & Check out this Wonderful Tool...

Hi there again,  I am so glad you are here!

I hope everyone's week is going wonderfully!  I am still not well. Thank you to everyone for well wishes and for their prayers!  I went to the doctor this morning, and found out why.  My blood sugar has elevated severely.  I am not on insulin, (I take medication--for now) unless I do not get in under control quickly. You can  bet I will be praying about this!  As, I definitely can not get my diabetes under control on my own!

Is there something that you would like to turn over to Him?  Something that you are holding tight of?  Something that just seems much bigger than you?  Just give it to our Lord, Jesus the Christ!  He will gladly lift anything off of our shoulders, anything we feel over-whelmed about!  All we need to do is ask Him to please take it!  And, then do our part of the work.  In my case, mostly giving up Italian food and carbs.  What is it that you would like to give to Him?  He knows what is best for us.  He loves each of us.  And, you can always pray with someone else, too.  I'm happy to pray with anyone.  Just email me, or leave a comment, and everyone that wants can join in!

"For God alone my soul waits in silence, from Him comes my Salvation.  He alone is my Rock and my Salvation, my Fortress; I shall never be shaken."  Psalm 62:1

Monday morning, we will have an amazing Testimony to share.  I hope you will all be back to read this amazing, real life story.  I tear up every time I read it.  I think you will start your Monday off  being even more excited about the Lord, after reading it!

The He IS Able Card of the Week Winner is...
Amazingly, it is the same person as last week's winner...
Congratulations, Nikki!

Your comment was randomly chosen to win that beautiful card made and donated by Grace!

Here is the comment:

"Nikki said...

Traci thanks so much for the card. And your post this week is awesome. The new church that I have been attending the past 2 weeks has been about finding that quiet time for God and finding that safe place for him. Good Job posting this and hope your doing good. Thanks again for the card. :)

August 14, 2010 6:53 PM"

Congratulations AGAIN, Nikki!  Thanks for leaving this wonderful comment.  I hope you are finding that quiet time for Him as you have wanted!

And, please check out the new "Card of the Week!"  It is made by Joan, a good friend, a sweetheart of a woman that I have the honor of praying with quite regularly.  Check out the fold on that card!  It is so intricate!  The randomly chosen winner will really enjoy figuring this card out!  It is so eye-catching!  Thank you so much for sharing this with us Joan!

Because I did not get my Monday post out until late on Monday, I am going to leave it with today's post. I want everyone to have the chance to make good use of this chart...please be sure to look up the rest of the Scripture. It's not like chicken---we can't take parts and pieces and use it as we want! We need to use it in the same context that the Lord intended!

Have a Blessed week!  Please leave a comment--it is located down by the next set of 3 pictures  Arrow down!  I love to read them...and you may be our randomly chosen winner to receive that Fantastic Card.

Remember~
He IS Able,
Traci S.

On Monday we will have a miraculous testimony shared please invite your Christian and non-Christian friends to visit, and on Wednesday a new post!  Here is this Monday's post, which was entered so late in the day!  I apologize again.  Here is this week's post:

Hi Everyone~

I apologize that this post today is so late.  I have been ill these last couple of days and just seem to want to keep on sleeping.  I hope you are all well, and found some time to slow life down--- to spend some more Quality time with our Lord, Jesus the Christ, who gave everything, so that we could be free in so many ways.

Today please find:
  • Gratitude for you
  • Wonderful Tool
  • Challenge Reminder

I am so thrilled with how you are building this blog up!  Thank you for your prayers, for telling your friends, for posting this blog on yours, and by stopping by!  This blog is growing steadily...which is wonderful!  Thank you all for such a blessing!  We have received 105 cards to date!  That is really amazing isn't it?I really appreciate everyone's comments and emails of support or sharing! You are very much appreciated. I love reading your remarks or questions.  If there is something you would like to see added to this blog. Please let me know. I will do my best.

I told one person that I would write about loneliness today.  I am sorry, but I just have not been able to read to well, and I was not able to study up on it for today.  My sincere apologies.

I want to remind everyone that I believe this blog belongs to all of you.  It would be such a wonderful way to serve Him, and perhaps introduce a reader to Him, if you would send in your Testimony to be shared, or perhaps you'd rather share your favorite Scripture and why...or tell a "God Story."  A time in your life when you knew that the dear Lord was right there beside you, perhaps comforting or guiding you.  This is how we can encourage each other!  Who doesn't feel more excited for the Lord when they hear how He wonderfully brought someone else into the fold?  Who doesn't start to think of that special time in their life?  Imagine being a non-Believer who stumbles across the blog, and reads something so loving, so personal.  I think it would impact that person very much...and perhaps lead them to wanting to know more about Jesus the Christ.

If you did not read the very first post to this blog...I encourage you to please take a minute, and click on the word "June" on the right.  That will bring the post up.  This post is so exciting!  It really spells out how the Lord led me to change every detail from this blog!  It was going to be a blog for beginner card-makers!  He had different plans! lol  Please take a moment and read about it.

Important!  I do not see comments if you do not leave them in one of this week's posts.  So, if you read a different section, please leave your thoughts on this week's post...just let me know which post you are referencing.  (Topic or date.) Thanks!  I want to get back to you, but if it is in another section, I do not see your additional comment past this week!  Thanks! PLUS, leaving a comment in this week's post makes you eligible automatically to possibly win the He IS Able, "Card of the Week!"  They are gorgeous!

I did come across a wonderful tool someone sent to me quite a while ago.  I suggest that everyone print two of them out.  One to keep with you in a purse or briefcase.  And, one to keep by the phone or computer...so that when a friend contacts you, you will have the perfect Scripture to share with them!

I hope you find this as handy as I have...  I do not know where this originated from.  I certainly thank whoever took the time to get this out!  Please look up the remainder of the Scripture.  We can't take pieces and parts and use them to our own meaning.  We need to look at the context in which they are used...and use them in the same way.

You say: 'I'm too tired' ...God says: I will give you rest...
( Matthew 11:28-30)

You say: 'Nobody really loves me' ...God says: I love you...
( John 3:1 6 & John 3:34 )

You say: 'I can't go on' ...God says: My grace is sufficient...
 (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)

You say: 'I can't figure things out' ...God says: I will direct your steps... (Proverbs 3:5- 6)

You say: 'I can't do it' ...God says: You can do all things ...
( Philippians 4:13)

You say: 'I'm not able' ...God says: I am able...
(II Corinthians 9:8)

You say:'It's not worth it'  ...God says: It will be worth it...
 (Roman 8:28 )

You say: 'I can't forgive myself' ...God says: I Forgive you...
(I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)

You say: 'I can't manage' ...God says: I will supply all your needs...
( Philippians 4:19)

You say: 'I'm afraid' ...God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear...
( II Timothy 1:7)

You say:'I'm always worried & frustrated'  ...God says: Cast all your cares on ME   (I Peter 5:7)

You say: 'I'm not smart enough' ...God says: I give you wisdom...
(I Corinthians 1:30)

You say: 'I feel all alone' ...God says: I will never leave you or forsake you...
(Hebrews 13:5)

Isn't that just a wonderful tool?  I use it often.  Just typing it up, brought tears to my swollen eyes!  God is Great!  Isn't He?  The section that read, "I did not give you the spirit of fear..." Just really hit me.  I am in a place currently with quite a bit of fear in it.  It just reminded me that "God is Good."  Anything not "good" is not from Him...so it must come from the enemy...and I don't have any time for that!  I am, in this moment, giving my concerns to the Lord.  I hope you will do so, also.  Just talk to Him.  Tell Him what is plaguing you, freezing you in action, worrying you.  He will take it from you...if we let Him.  I will try...again.  It only takes one time for Him to "get" it.  It takes me practice not to grab "it" back again!  The Lord is patient with us.  He loves us.  He wants to be here for us.

If you do not know Jesus the Christ as your Lord and Saviour.  Please contact a church and tell them, or email me, and I will pray with you!  In fact, I am happy to stand in prayer with any of you.

Quiet Moments in the Presence of God and "The Card of the Week Winner"

Hello Everyone~

So much is happening around us.  I would say that the majority of the people that I pray for personally, ask me to pray for energy, being able to schedule so they can get everything done, sleep and being able to relax!  How busy we all are!  Some have work, children or grand-children to care for, cards to make, church activities, car-pools, children's soccer or ballet, things to do for your husband's work, cook...just to name a some!

Today please find:

  • Psalm 119:11 and Psalm 119:114
  • Sharing from: Quiet Moments in the Presence of God
  • Announcing the He IS Able-- "Card of the Week" Winner!
Today, I would like to share a passage I read in the book, Quiet Moments in the Presence of God.  It is published by Bethany House.  It gives thought to how we can settle our selves before we read His Holy Word.

"You're my place of quiet retreat;  I wait for Your Word to renew me."
  Psalm 119:114

"There is no better place to be than in the presence of God.  There is no better way to be in the presence of God than to get quiet and to focus on God's love for and commitment to you.  Focus your heart on God's passion, your mind on God's insight, and your will on God's plan and purpose for your life.

Quiet your body as you sit still, hush the nudge to be somewhere else.

Quiet your mind as you shake off the pressures of agenda and schedule.

Quiet your heart as you make God's presence your priority and relegate anything else to lesser importance."

This was taken, word for word, from the Introduction of Quiet Moments in the Presence of God.

"I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you."  Psalm 119:11

When we hide His Word in our hearts it is a deterrent from sin.  This is one reason in itself to memorize Scripture!  But, don't be fooled...memorization of Scripture alone will not save us from sin or the enemy.  We need to do our best to apply what we have learned and stored in our hearts into action in our daily lives...day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment.

My Bible, the Life Application Bible, tells me that this Psalm is the longest chapter in the Bible! The author is anonymous though many think it was Ezra.

The Winner of the He IS Able "Card of the Week" is...
Nichole!!!!  Congratulations!!!

"Traci thanks for posting these cards on your blog. I enjoy looking at them. Tomorrow I am going to go to a different church. I feel as though the Lord is sending me in a new direction. I hope this direction is a good one. I have been looking for a church to attend for awhile now (different from my religion that I grew up with). Because I feel as though God has something in store for me."

  • Isaiah 40:29-31--Psalm 46:10
  • Happy 40th Day Anniversary---yesterday!
Michele, thank you for allowing me to share your thoughts with everyone.  Thank you for all of the guidance you have given me, the prayers you have prayed with me, and for the cards that you have donated to this blog.  You are a valued friend.

Here are a few thoughts from Michele:

"After my last few days I would just like to share something from a book by Stormie Omartin. In worship you will experience God's love. He will change your emtotions, attitudes and patterns of thoughts. He will pour out his Spirit upon you and make your heart open to receive all He has for you. He will make your mind clear so you can better understand His word. He will refresh, renew, enrich, enlighten, heal, free and fulfill you. He will breathe life into the dead areas of your existence. He will infuse you with His power and His joy. He will redeem and transform you and your situation. He will give you peace, he will break the chains that imprison you and restore you to wholeness. He will lift you above your circumstances and limitations and motive you to help others find life in Him!

Find some time and a quiet space to read some of God's word, meditate and pray on it and be still and know that He is God. He wants to restore you and bring you peace, joy and blessings. He loves you so very much and wants the best for each of us.

Thank you so much Michele for sharing today!  I found this information on Stormie Omartin's website.  I thought it may be interesting for some of you to know:

"Stormie Omartin has led milllions to pray~~ parents, wives, husbands, women, teens and kids. Each of her best-selling books have opened up the mystery of prayer and helped readers approach God with confidence and experience His power. With thransparency and Biblical depth, Stormie now shares what it means to connect with God in a deep and meaningful way through every circumstance that presents itself." (This information was taken word for word from her website, Stormie Omartin)

I have found that Stormie Omartin has many books on the market...almost all about prayer and the power in prayer. She also has speaking engagements. I have not yet had the pleasure to read one of her books or see her speaking, but based on all of the information on the website, I look forward to it!

Reading what Michele wrote really brought these two Scriptures to mind.  The first is from Isaiah 40:31.  You may know it by heart. It reads:

Isaiah:29-31
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30
     Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
     will renew their strength.
     They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 29-31

What promises this Scripture holds!  I feel like I should hang it in my closet.  With my disabilities, I have a lot of trouble getting up and moving in the morning.  This is a wonderful reminder of how he will renew each of us!

Just an idea:  When I am trying to learn new Scriptures...just like when my son was young and tried to learn spelling words...I tape Scriptures to the light switches, on the TV remote, put it on my pillow...mirror...you get the idea.  And, when I use that item, or even see the note...I say it to myself at least twice.  You may want to try this out with your children...or yourself!  It has helped me to memorize many things.  Once you have it memorized...take it down.  When they are all down...start again!

The other Scripture which immediately came to mind when Michele was sharing and mentioned meditating...was a long time favorite.  It is one of the few Scriptures that I learned as a young Jewish child and I love it even more today.

It is Psalm 46:10:
     10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

What wonderful words they are indeed! I often pray this right after I say my prayers for my friends and family. And then, I try to remain quiet for a few moments at least. I don't see it as a request. I don't see the word, "Please", or "I ask that you will..." He is telling us to "Be Still..." Try it out, if you haven't lately. You may be extremely happy that you did!__________________________________________________________
Yesterday, August 8th, was our 40th Day Anniversary for this blog!  I hope everyone is working on their card, or bookmark, or altered item... or poem, or just about anything creative for the Challenge

I will reprint all of the previous info at the end of the post today.
However, I would like to answer a few questions.

First of all, You do not need to stamp on this at all...Use a Cricut to cut out pieces, water paint, write a poem as if you were Noah, create anything that you would like-- to go with the Scriptures shared about this part of the Bible.  It is up to you and your creativity!  (The Scriptures will be in red below.)

You may not be aware of this...  When people have more than one post...which is great! I count the first comment someone left in regards to winning the Card of the Week only.

So, when you finish your project, please take a photo and post it to your gallery or blog.  I am at SCS. (SpllitCoastStampers)  Then leave a comment
(found at the very end of the post) with the URL or link to your project...(not your whole blog or gallery)...just the project(s) you want to include in our 1st Challenge.  That way, everyone can take a look.

THEN...  Please mail your project to me: Traci Starkweather
                                                              116 Colyer Drive
                                                              Longwood, Florida 32779

The winner will be chosen by random drawing.  Every time I receive a card or light-weight project, I will enter that person's name in the drawing.  One entry for each project.  The person's name who is randomly chosen, will win the first half of the pile of cards and other projects received.  I will mail them to the winner as soon as I have the address.  So, the more people that play...the more you could win!  So, please invite your friends to play.  They need to hurry as the card needs to be received no later than August 22nd, and the fortunate winner will be announced on the 25th!  The other half of the cards will be added to the wonderful supply of cards we have on hand for the blog.

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions, ideas about the blog, anything to share...please do not hesitate.  This is YOUR blog, too!  BTW, if anyone has any idea how other blogs show the photo of your art right on their blog...please let me know.  I would love to have that available for our next challenge...and who knows when that will be here!?  :)

New Card Winner! 1st He IS Able Blog Challenge Continues!

Hello Everyone~

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week, and that each of you has had opportunities to spend time with the Lord, in His Word and time to share that Great News with others!  The Bible tells us in Luke 10:27 to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart."  Are you doing that?

I am loving Him like I have never done in my life! I think it is because I am spending more quality time with Him.  I am reading more, especialy to prepare for this blog, and because He loves us enough to leave a manual for living!  I am praying more.  In addition to my prayers I pray over every card that goes out.  Praying that it will touch someone's heart.  Perhaps plant a seed or thought.  And, that perhaps that person will come to know Jesus the Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.  Or, that the card will brighten that light that shines inside a Christian who is just going through the pace of life.  Use the cards as you want.  Know that I am praying over them.  I love praising Him!  I come in from outside, and I thank Him for air-conditioning.  See a beautiful flower.  Praise Him.  Are you healthy?  Praise Him.  Have a talent?  Praise Him.  Have healthy love in your life.  Praise Him.  James 1:17 reads "Every good and perfect gift is from above."  Isn't that so true?

Michele's Thoughts... and Our 1st He IS Able Challenge!

Hi Everyone~

Do you know how I keep saying this is everyone's blog?  That it is not mine?  That you won't hear me share every time you visit?  I've asked you to please send in your Testimony, Favorite Scripture and Why, or a "God Story."  You know, a time when you have felt His presence or guidance in a special way?  Well, you are super fortunate today.  We have a guest writer today.  A big thank you to Michele for sharing her innermost thoughts about the Lord.  If you are interested in sharing...please send me your info to my email listed on the side bar.

After you read what she has to say... be sure to continue on to find out about our very...
1st He IS Able Challenge!

Here is Michele's writing:
"I just want to say that for anyone who is struggling--not sure where you are in your walk with God, having doubts, troubles, worries, health issues, whatever it may be.  The Bible says we have the authority in Jesus Christ to speak to those things, to pray to our Lord and Savior and while there are struggles in life, it is in Jesus that we all can have Victory over our situation.  Call out to
Jesus and tell Him your worries, tell Him everything--come before Him humbly and with an open heart.

It is my prayer that each person who visits will think and work towards a closer walk with Jesus.  The more you read your Bible--The Word, the more you pray, the more you praise.  God will give you revelation in your lives.  It may not be instantaneous, but He is moving more than our eyes can see. Take steps of faith, re-open a dialogue if you haven't praying in a while.  Remember, you are a son or daughter of the King, You are inscribed on the palm of His hand.

That verse makes me feel just so special!  Start to think of things on a personal level, because we are all special in God's eyes and every good and perfect gift is from above!  Just makes me think of a closeness that we have with the Father through Jesus.  When two or more are gathered in His name, He is there.  The computer counts!  He is there always for each of us.  Seek and ye shall find.

Love in Christ,
Michele"

Michele thank you so much for sharing your beautiful words with all of us today. I say a big "Amen!" to them all!  Fortunately, Michele has a bit more to share with us.  We will see the rest of this writing next Monday, the 9th of August.

Now... the 1st Ever He IS Able Challenge!

August 8th is right around the corner, and I'm sure if you don't have a birthday or anniversary on that day...you probably aren't planning a celebration!  Am I right?

Well, on August 8th, the He IS Able blog will be 40 days old!  You may be asking, "What's so great about the 40th day?"  Well, I will tell you.  The number 40 is so important throughout the Bible.  Most people will think of Noah and the Ark...the whole 40 days and 40 nights.  What about Moses?  40 years in the desert!  Jesus in the desert with Satan?  40!  What about His ascension to Heaven?  40 days after He reappeared to His followers!  There are many 40's in the Bible and I thought it would be great to celebrate one of them.

This challenge is about a very righteous man.  It's Noah.  Let me share a couple of things the Bible says about this man:
Genesis 6:9-"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God."
And, Genesis 6:22-"Noah did everything just as God commanded him."

Now let's take a look at the number 40 in this part of the Bible:

Genesis 7:17-19-"For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.  The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered."

OK--The Challenge
