  • Continued Sharing from Michele G. from last Monday (August 2nd)
  • Isaiah 40:29-31--Psalm 46:10
  • Happy 40th Day Anniversary---yesterday!
Michele, thank you for allowing me to share your thoughts with everyone.  Thank you for all of the guidance you have given me, the prayers you have prayed with me, and for the cards that you have donated to this blog.  You are a valued friend.

Here are a few thoughts from Michele:

"After my last few days I would just like to share something from a book by Stormie Omartin. In worship you will experience God's love. He will change your emtotions, attitudes and patterns of thoughts. He will pour out his Spirit upon you and make your heart open to receive all He has for you. He will make your mind clear so you can better understand His word. He will refresh, renew, enrich, enlighten, heal, free and fulfill you. He will breathe life into the dead areas of your existence. He will infuse you with His power and His joy. He will redeem and transform you and your situation. He will give you peace, he will break the chains that imprison you and restore you to wholeness. He will lift you above your circumstances and limitations and motive you to help others find life in Him!

Find some time and a quiet space to read some of God's word, meditate and pray on it and be still and know that He is God. He wants to restore you and bring you peace, joy and blessings. He loves you so very much and wants the best for each of us.

Thank you so much Michele for sharing today!  I found this information on Stormie Omartin's website.  I thought it may be interesting for some of you to know:

"Stormie Omartin has led milllions to pray~~ parents, wives, husbands, women, teens and kids. Each of her best-selling books have opened up the mystery of prayer and helped readers approach God with confidence and experience His power. With thransparency and Biblical depth, Stormie now shares what it means to connect with God in a deep and meaningful way through every circumstance that presents itself." (This information was taken word for word from her website, Stormie Omartin)

I have found that Stormie Omartin has many books on the market...almost all about prayer and the power in prayer. She also has speaking engagements. I have not yet had the pleasure to read one of her books or see her speaking, but based on all of the information on the website, I look forward to it!

Reading what Michele wrote really brought these two Scriptures to mind.  The first is from Isaiah 40:31.  You may know it by heart. It reads:

Isaiah:29-31
     He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30
     Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
  31 but those who hope in the LORD
     will renew their strength.
     They will soar on wings like eagles;
      they will run and not grow weary,
      they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 29-31

What promises this Scripture holds!  I feel like I should hang it in my closet.  With my disabilities, I have a lot of trouble getting up and moving in the morning.  This is a wonderful reminder of how he will renew each of us!

Just an idea:  When I am trying to learn new Scriptures...just like when my son was young and tried to learn spelling words...I tape Scriptures to the light switches, on the TV remote, put it on my pillow...mirror...you get the idea.  And, when I use that item, or even see the note...I say it to myself at least twice.  You may want to try this out with your children...or yourself!  It has helped me to memorize many things.  Once you have it memorized...take it down.  When they are all down...start again!

The other Scripture which immediately came to mind when Michele was sharing and mentioned meditating...was a long time favorite.  It is one of the few Scriptures that I learned as a young Jewish child and I love it even more today.

It is Psalm 46:10:
     10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
          I will be exalted among the nations,
          I will be exalted in the earth."

What wonderful words they are indeed! I often pray this right after I say my prayers for my friends and family. And then, I try to remain quiet for a few moments at least. I don't see it as a request. I don't see the word, "Please", or "I ask that you will..." He is telling us to "Be Still..." Try it out, if you haven't lately. You may be extremely happy that you did!__________________________________________________________
Yesterday, August 8th, was our 40th Day Anniversary for this blog!  I hope everyone is working on their card, or bookmark, or altered item... or poem, or just about anything creative for the Challenge

I will reprint all of the previous info at the end of the post today.
However, I would like to answer a few questions.

First of all, You do not need to stamp on this at all...Use a Cricut to cut out pieces, water paint, write a poem as if you were Noah, create anything that you would like-- to go with the Scriptures shared about this part of the Bible.  It is up to you and your creativity!  (The Scriptures will be in red below.)

You may not be aware of this...  When people have more than one post...which is great! I count the first comment someone left in regards to winning the Card of the Week only.

So, when you finish your project, please take a photo and post it to your gallery or blog.  I am at SCS. (SpllitCoastStampers)  Then leave a comment
(found at the very end of the post) with the URL or link to your project...(not your whole blog or gallery)...just the project(s) you want to include in our 1st Challenge.  That way, everyone can take a look.

THEN...  Please mail your project to me: Traci Starkweather
                                                              116 Colyer Drive
                                                              Longwood, Florida 32779

The winner will be chosen by random drawing.  Every time I receive a card or light-weight project, I will enter that person's name in the drawing.  One entry for each project.  The person's name who is randomly chosen, will win the first half of the pile of cards and other projects received.  I will mail them to the winner as soon as I have the address.  So, the more people that play...the more you could win!  So, please invite your friends to play.  They need to hurry as the card needs to be received no later than August 22nd, and the fortunate winner will be announced on the 25th!  The other half of the cards will be added to the wonderful supply of cards we have on hand for the blog.

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions, ideas about the blog, anything to share...please do not hesitate.  This is YOUR blog, too!  BTW, if anyone has any idea how other blogs show the photo of your art right on their blog...please let me know.  I would love to have that available for our next challenge...and who knows when that will be here!?  :)

Remember~
He IS Able,

Here's the info previously shared about The 1st He IS Able Blog Challenge!
This challenge is about a very righteous man. It's Noah. Let me share a couple of things the Bible says about this man:

Genesis 6:9-"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God."

And, Genesis 6:22-"Noah did everything just as God commanded him."

Now let's take a look at the number 40 in this part of the Bible:

Genesis 7:4-"Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights..."

Genesis 7:17-19-"For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered."

How to play: Make a card, bookmark or any other creative item depicting anything mentioned in these Scripturess about the righteous man, Noah. Or about the quotes pertaining to the number 40.

How to enter: At any time, please leave a comment with a link to your card or bookmark. Then, mail your card and an extra envelope to:

   Traci Starkweather
                                               116 Colyer Drive
                                          Longwood, Florida 32779

How to Win: I will enter the name of each person who sends their card into a random drawing. (Enter as many times as you would like!)

What You Will Win! The person's name that is chosen by random drawing, will receive the first half of all of the cards and other creative items received for this contest! Yippee! The other half, will go into the very large blessed pile of cards for the blog! Thank you Lord for providing so many people with such big hearts and talent!

I will mail those cards/bookmarks or other creative items received to you, as soon as you email me an address! You could win one card, or 100 cards! It depends on how many people send their cards on or before August 22nd! That gives you two full weeks! Have fun!

I can't wait to see everyone's entry.  Stop back in and check out the comments...some will have posts showing their entries!  :)
