Not A Word

Hi Friends~

Today I have a Devotion to share from the book Quiet Moments in the Presence of God, published by Bethany House.  So many of us have been rushed in one way or another with Easter just behind us...now is the time to re-commit if necessary to silence everyday.  Silence so you can hear Him.  Let's take a look at what they wrote:

"Everyone kept quiet and listened as Barnabas and Paul told how God have given them the power to work a lot of miracles and wonders for the Gentiles."
Acts 15:12

"Silence invites God into your heart and ignites you with a passion for His closeness.  It takes down the bars that the world's busyness and noise put on your soul and opens the door where God stands waiting to enter.  Silence is a direct path to God's presence.  Many of the wonderful gifts that come from God are given in silence.

When Elijah left a cave and went to a mountain to hear from God, he listened intently for the divine voice in blustery wind, trembling earthquake, and blistering fire.  He heard from God, but not in any of that.  God chose to speak with Elijah in absolute silence.

Silence is a condition in which God makes Himself known to you."

I hope you all have a bit of quiet time in your busy weekends.  God Bless!

He IS Able,
Traci S.

  1. It is because when we are silent we are listening and not talking. :)
We have a tendency when we pray to talk and talk and not to listen..

    Wonderful devotional

    Have a fabulously blessed week
