Happy 2 Month Blog-O-Versary! Cards from the 1st Challenge!

Hi Everyone~

A big thank you to those of you who left a comment last week, and shared which name of the Lord you most relate to.  They were so wonderful to read!  I realized that I didn't tell you my favorites.  They would be, in no certain order, Great Physician, Lord, Jesus the Christ, Mighty One, and King of Kings!  It all depends what I am praying about, and they are not of course, limited to this list!

Today you will find:
  • The Beautiful and Creative Cards made for our very 1st He IS Able Blog Challenge!
  • Genesis 6:9, 6:22, 7:4, 7:17-19
  • The Winner of the "Card of the Week" Challenge!
Ladies, those of you who have won cards from the Big Celebration should be receiving your cards by Saturday!  I hope you enjoy sharing these cards with others, and use them to fulfill the He IS Able blog Mission Statement:

"He IS Able:  Sharing His Love, His Word, His Gift of Salvation through Card Give-Aways!"

The Beautiful and Creative Cards made for our very
1st He IS Able Blog Challenge!

This challenge existed to Celebrate our 40th day as a blog!  The number 40 can be found throughout the Bible. This challenge was about a very righteous man in the Bible. Noah. It was also about celebrating the number 40 in this part of the Bible!  These Scriptures were shared, and the participants made cards representing these Verses:

Genesis 6:9-"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God."

Genesis 6:22-"Noah did everything just as God commanded him."

Genesis 7:4-"Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights..."

Genesis 7:17-19-"For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered."

Tracy was the winner of the random drawing which took place between the participants!  She won ALL of the cards pictured, plus a couple others that I made to build the prize up a bit!  Her card is the first card!  Isn't that so lovely? I really like those soft pastel colors!  So meaningful!  You can visit her blog here, please congratulate her, and let her know you came from the He IS Able blog!  I love the name of her blog!  "I Wanna Build A Memory"!

Deb Saaranen's card is that adorable Noah's Ark Card!  She used such wonderfully bright colors!  I love the look of it up close!  It looks like there is a little row of vellum between the stripes!  That bow is delightful! When you visit Deb's blog, "Dream in Color" please let her know you came from the He IS Able blog!

Natalie made a fabulous card!  I love the layers of waves that are seen below the dove! She added some beautiful shimmer to the dove itself.  She shares a special Verse.  Take a look.  You can find Natalie's blog right here, it is called, "Delightful Details." When you leave her some love, let her know you came from here!  Thanks!

My card was an experiment of sorts. I knew that I wanted to have a rough looking ocean-- with waves. So, I painted on vellum with my Twinkling H20's, and ripped the paper into strips. I wanted to show Noah's Righteousness by Worshipping even in those circumstances, you can almost hear him singing, "I'm Going to Let it Shine!"

The Winner of the "Card of the Week" random drawing is...
                     Sharanda!  Congratulations!

Because Danie did not reach me with her address this week.  She has forfeited this beautiful card made and donated by Dawn B.  Try again, Danie!

Sharanda you will win this wonderful card!  I have your address from last week's Big Celebration!  All you need to do is keep your eyes out for your mail!  In fact, EVERYONE who won a card in the Big Celebration should receive their card by the weekend!  This week is a very special week to win the card also!  Yesterday was our 2 MONTH BLOG-O-VERSARY!!  CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!!!

Here is Sharanda's comment:
"I agree with Tracy (CONGRATS, by the way!) that everyone who visits this blog can say that they are blessed! You are a truly inspiring person, Traci, and I'm glad to be a part of your blog journey. I will certainly keep Dave in prayer for a job and for a relationship with Christ. I, too, am out of work and searching. Thank you so much for what you are doing, and congratulations to all the WINNERS!!"  August 26, 2010 2:15 AM

And, Tracy said:
"Thanks Traci! I believe that everyone who has visited this blog can say they were blessed. May God continue to be glorified by your efforts!"

Thank you so much both of you. I pray that He is Glorified with each post, and with each card that is sent out. I pray that each of you are blessed, and that this blog will grow at the speed that He would like it to grow. (I became a bit obsessed on Friday, thinking how neat of a Testimony it would be to have 60 Followers by our 2 MONTH BLOG-O-VERSARY. My head became inflated! Don't worry, the Holy Spirit convicted me of my greed, and not waiting on the Lord. I am back to normal...praying for His will to be done...and I will just keep on doing what is in front of me.  I thank Him for showing me my errors!)

Please keep in mind that any one who wants to be eligible to win this week's "Card of the Week," only needs to leave a comment before 8pm on Tuesday evening! If your name is randomly drawn you have until that time to email me with your mailing address! The card, extra envelope and postage will be sent to you! If for some reason, you do not want to win the card...perhaps you have a stack 4 feet high at home...just don't email me your address.  The card will then go on to the next week's winner!  Don't worry, no questions asked!  No pressure! (Another lesson learned from a dear friend...thank you, my friend!)

Thinking back to our first day as a blog, 2 MONTHS ago it makes me want to remind you that if anyone hasn't read that very first post. I believe you will be blessed to read it! That is what so many of you told me! (Thank you!) This post is a great way to introduce friends to the blog, and the Love of The Lord!  Just click on June...it is the only post there. Plus, it will let you know about different opportunities here at the He IS Able blog!
This time, I made the card for the random drawing!  I think that by using a card with the words He IS Able on it is a great card to celebrate our 2 MONTH BLOG-O-VERSARY!  Congratulations, to all of you!  I thank you for coming each week, and leaving such wonderful comments.  I thank you to all of you who have signed up as Google "Followers."  You are the ones who are making this blog grow, and touch people's lives for the Lord, one person at a time!  This really IS your blog!  I am thrilled to have my dream of having a ministry from home!  I pray that everything of this blog Glorifies Him!  And, that each of you are encouraged!
Get ready!  Big Topic on Monday...Forgiveness!
Remember~
He IS Able,
Traci S.
p.s.  As of next week, I will be posting my paper crafts on Friday.  Thank you for answering the poll.  I placed the poll there because several people had emailed me and asked why I don't show my cards.  Thank you for participating...and for leaving your comments this week.  If you are willing, how about sharing something that YOU would like to read here on the blog?
Thanks!

p.p.s.  I apologize for the spacing issues on today's post!  For some reason, it would not let me keep the correct spacing between paragraphs!  I'm sorry if this disturbed your reading and concentration.  Blessings to all of you!

  1. Ah, Traci, you don't need to apologize for something that isn't perfect. As far as I can tell, the spacing is fine and I had no problem reading the blog. Actually, I didn't know there was supposed to be a problem until I read your apology.

On to other things. Thanks for writing this blog. It is encouraging to read it. I am challenged by your openness.

This past week I pondered over things you had writen and in Sunday school our class got into a discussion regarding leaving our witness. Think God was talking to me? :)

    Keep up the good work!

  2. Dear Grammar~

You are very kind! Thank you for your encouraging words. I really do appreciate them!

You know, I believe, that I am a bit partial to sharing your Testimony or a whole list of other topics right here on the He IS Able blog!

Write something up, and we'll post it. Go for it! I do believe that He commands us to share the Gospels and His Word to others.

I have tried to find your email or blog to reach you. If you are interested, would you please send me your email? Mine is on the right side of the post!

    Remember,
    He IS Able,
    Traci S.
