Happy Friday to All~
It's less than a week until Thanksgiving! I love this holiday it is one of my favorites. We all gather at my parent's home and everyone brings a dish or two...mostly desserts! We all love to bake! lol One year we had over a dozen different desserts and there were 9 people there! I feel so grateful that when you know the Lord, you can thank Him any time, any where, about the big things and the little things.
When I was still Jewish, I didn't have a personal relationship with God, so I only really prayed unrote prayers on Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement) and Rosh Hashanah (The New Year). These are the two High Holy Days. The New Year's Celebration has nothing in common with the American celebration. I am thankful, for being able to thank Him, personally!
Today is Friday, and I am ready to share a few cards with you. I already shared my card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge on Wednesday! I would like to share something small with each of you, will EVERYONE please send me your mailing address? It may take a couple of months...but if I start...I will eventually get to you. Please email it to me. And, write "He IS Able" on the subject line. I will not share your address with anyone anywhere! I promise!
This is the fun card that I made for my Dad's birthday! This cute little bear is called "Popcorn the Bear!" He is one of many different stamps and supplies at one of my favorite stamping sites...Crafter's Companion, if you live in the UK Crafter's Companion has a separate website here. I clear embossed this image. I thought it would help me stay in each tiny little square or color each dot on that fun wrapping paper. I used water color pencils on this. I used my Cuttle Bug to emboss that fun "Little Bubbles" folder...and the paper came from 3 Birds! Isn't this a cute little guy? Really, you should check their site out. They are having a huge sale...and "Popcorn the Bear" comes in every different situation you can think of: fishing, carrying flowers, and you should see him in his Valentine's Day image! I hope you like him. I re-did this 3 times. If you have any suggestions...I would LOVE to hear how you would have added color to him. The wrapping paper was already designed. I wanted to use Flower Soft on him...but was afraid the shading wouldn't show.
The Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Team challenged us to make
This card is for a friend of mine who was just made a Grandmother again, by the birth of a little baby girl. I loved this heart from Clear Dollar Stamps. It just seemed perfect for a little baby when I used pastels on it. The word Joy was part of the set...and it just seemed like the perfect word for this occasion. I used SU! Pretty in Pink paper, and Loew-Cornell water color pencils. The Cuttle Bug embossed the SU! White cs with the popular Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. A little bit of pink satin ribbon and call it a day. I can't imagine a more joyful experience than bringing a little one into the family! Congratulations!
Well, so far those are my cards for this week! I hope that you have enjoyed taking a peek at them. I hope you will post suggestions on the comment area. Or, how about sharing something that people don't usually think to thank Him for? I am thankful for each of you! And, I am super-excited when you put the He IS Able badge from the side bar on your blog! Just send me an email with your blog URL, and when I see it...I will send you a beautiful card and envelope from the He IS Able blog! Why am I doing this? Because the more people know about this blog, the more they will read about Jesus Christ and His Love, His Word through our Bible and the Gift of Salvation! Who wouldn't be excited!?

Can you guess who I made this card for? My Dad! He celebrated his 70th birthday with all of us on Amelia Island last weekend. I had some creative help by the writer of the Little Birdie Blessings, Abby. You really will be blessed if you visit her blog! She turns everyday letters into works of art! She did the lettering for this card...it was perfect! She calls it "Word Art." I printed it on vellum paper, put a black and white lined piece of cards stock under it, a white sheet of cs under that and Voila! A place to share some memories with my Dad!
Abby LOVES Vintage Art and often takes Scripture and adds it to a Vintage photo! They are wonderful. She has a lot of FREE GORGEOUS downloads available to all of us! When you visit, please tell her you know about her blog from the He IS Able blog!
"Anything BUT a Card!" So, I made a pretty large tag. It is 6"x4". I used one of their stamps from the "Sing for Joy " set...the cardinal! I colored the cardinal and branch with water color pencils. I layered a print sheet on the bottom (the stripes, paisley and little faux stitches). red paper across that, and some SU! ivory cs on that. I cut that piece into a scalloped square with my Crafter's Companion Paper Cutter. I love it! You just spin the dial and the blade changes in less than a second! I plan to put a recipe on the back and attach this to the pumpkin bread with mini chocolate chips or some other goody. Or, we may put our holiday wishes on the back, and use it like a card for his fellow employees.

Traci,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words about me and for mentioning my blog. The DAD card came out great, glad I could help. I'm sure he loved the birthday card you made with the bear.
I just love your Christmas tag with the cardinal. I'm going to have to look into the paper cutter that makes the wavy cuts.
The baby card is so sweet, love the white dot background. Your personalized handmade cards are works of art, and treasured I'm sure to everyone you make them for.
