Love Poems

Hi Friends~

Happy Friday!  I hope you all have some fun and wonderful plans for the weekend, even if it is snowing where you live.  (As long as you are safe, of course.)

This is Friday, and I have not been well enough to make any cards or projects...besides imagining them in my head!  So, I thought I would share two poems with you that clearly show His love.  Love is our theme this month.

The first one is by Ralph Waldo Emerson.  I found it in my book titled
Whispers of Promise by Barbour Publishing.  Even if you have read the poems before, I suggest you try to look at it as if it is brand new. Read them slowly. New thoughts to consider.  Think about how you could have written these poems.  When would that have been?  How did you feel?  How much of His love did you feel once you read what "you" wrote?  Enjoy the experience! I did!
Never Lose an Opportunity

Never lose an opportunity
of seeing anything that is
beautiful for beauty is God's
handwriting-- a wayside
sacrament.  Welcome it in every
fair face, in every fair sky, in every
fair flower, and thank God for it as
a cup of blessing.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

The next poem is a well-known poem.  The author remains anonymous.  Please read each section, and imagine yourself in the poem. If you were in the poem, what sensations would you feel?  What emotions would be right under your skin?  What would the scene look like?  How would you feel at the end?  Does this poem illustrate some of the love that our Dear Lord, Jesus the Christ has for us?  Can you imagine how much more love He has for each of us?  Can you think of any other circumstances where He shows His love for you?

How about sharing your thoughts?  Just email it to me.  We just want to know...How do you know Jesus loves you?  Or, How do you show your love for Him?

Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream.
I dreamed I was walking along the beach
with the Lord...

Across the sky flashed scenes from my life..
For each scene, I noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand,
one belonging to me, and the other to the Lord...

When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life
there was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me
and I questioned the Lord about it:

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why
when I need you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied:
"My precious child, I love you and would
never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it was then
that I carried you."

How did the 2 segments that I underlined make you feel?  Whenever I hear about Him referring to me as "His" or especially "His precious child", I feel so wonderful!  I feel special.  I feel that if the Lord of All feels this way about me, I must be okay.

"I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."  Psalm 139:14
When I read the lines "once I decided to follow you," it made me happy and sad for a moment.  It made me think of how I hope and pray that this blog encourages others to share the Love of Jesus to their friends and family, and to ask them to pray about the gift of Salvation that only comes through giving our life to Christ Jesus.  It also reminded me of my own family full of Atheists and Jews.  And, how that makes me sad, that they don't know His love as I do.  Their eyes are still sealed.

"The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those
who trust in Him."  Nahum 1:7

Have a fabulous weekend!  Remember, you can always leave a comment about anything.  However, the question for today is, "How do you know Jesus loves you", or  "How do you show your love for Him?" Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to reading your thoughts!  Thanks so much for sharing! God Bless!

He IS Able,
Traci S.

  1. As I read the poem "Footprints in the sand, I thought of my father. He passed away in 2002. However, each time I read this poem he is right here with me. My Aunt had her 100th Birthday yesterday! She lives in her and completely takes care of herself and others. She is an amazing gentle lady. Please say a prayer for her.
Thanks for all for what you do for others.
