Prayers and Answered Prayers

Hi Friends~

I wanted to make sure you know, if you haven't read the comment sections, by clicking on them, you don't know what you have been missing!  There has been so much wisdom for anyone in those sections, especially the last post, they had to do with prayer.  I encourage you to take a peek!

Going on...since we have been sharing about prayer this week, I wanted to end the week by listing several Scripture here today..."One About Praying"...and the next about "Answered Prayer."  When you look at them in this manner, it is so easy to see how He set up this wonderful way of communicating for us.  We can be with Him at all times...He IS with us at all times...but we can actually praise Him, ask for forgiveness, pray for others and ourselves, ask for guidance, or share His Scripture with Him in prayer.  Question:  BTW, did you try sharing the Scripture of the concept of a Scripture with Him when you prayed this week?  I would love to know how it worked for you.  Like most new processes, it takes time to get used to it.

Let's take a look at "A Scripture about Prayer" and "A Scripture about Answered Prayer"...  Perhaps you will challenge yourself and try to memorize one this week!  Let us know how it goes...and you may find yourself with a He IS Able Card!

A Scripture about Prayer:
 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For
 where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the
midst of them.”  (Matthew 18: 19-20 NKJV)

A Scripture about Answered Prayer:
"If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (John 15:7 NIV)

A Scripture about Prayer:
 "The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
  He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them."
(Psalm 145:18-19 NKJV)

A Scripture about Answered Prayer:
"And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."   (James 5:15-16 NKJV)

A Scripture about Prayer:
"You are forgiving and good, O Lord,
abounding in love to all who call to you.
  Hear my prayer, O LORD;
listen to my cry for mercy.
   In the day of my trouble I will call to You,
for You will answer me.
(Psalm 86:5-7 NIV)

A Scripture about Answered Prayer:
"‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you Great and
Mighty things, which you do not know.’"  (Jeremiah 33:3)

These are only a few Scriptures about Prayer and Answered Prayer...I could go on listing them all day long. Question: Do you have a favorite Scripture about prayer or answered prayer?  Perhaps one that isn't listed here?  Do you pray for others?  Do you ask others to pray for you?  We  would be blessed to know.  How about letting us know in the comment section...if you would like. Of course, you may share anything else there, too!

I chose the first Scripture because that is particularly special to Michele. She hasn't told me it is her favorite...but it doesn't have to be THE favorite...I know she is drawn to this prayer, and it reminded me of her.   She wrote a few words about it in the last comment section. (Check it out.)  I love what and how she writes, and I look forward to the next post of "Precious Women of God--This Includes YOU!"  This special post is shared on the 3rd Friday of each month...and she shares about a different woman of the Bible.  She gives us information about this woman, and asks us thought-provoking questions.  Would we have done things the same way that she did?  Would we have stepped up if our life was in danger?  Are we like her...or not like her?  Things like this....Mark your calendar!

James 5:15-16 was listed because it really reminds me of Joan, our Prayer Team Leader.  She has such a heart to pray for others, she prays for the sick...KNOWING that if it is His will, they will be healed...and she won't stop praying for that person until the situation has changed.  I know this about her, and when I saw this Verse, I said, "Wow, Joan is like that..."The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."  (We know that the Bible uses the term "man" to mean "people.")  Would you join Joan, and myself, and be a member of our Prayer Team?  We pray for our guests and their prayer needs if they let us know about them, for the blog to Glorify Him...and encourage others...and to reach those who don't know about Jesus yet...along with other requests.  She is very encouraging, and we will fit the prayer requests she gives you to fit your time availability. (You don't have to pray for EVERYTHING on the list!)   If you can give us 10 minutes a day, or every other day, it is a great way to serve the Lord, and serve your Brothers and Sisters in Christ!  Please let me know via email....(Traci on the side bar) ...or in the comment section.  We will be happy to welcome you to the Team!

A friend of mine passed this on to me...it is beautiful, has lovely sound, and fits our theme.  Please check it out.  Cathy, thank you!

I am home in SC. :) I didn't know you were ill but so thankful you are feeling better. May God continue to hold you and heal you! Beautiful post too! Much love and blessings,
