Happy Valentine's Day--The Way Our Father Sees It

Hi Friends~

Happy Valentine's Day!  This isn't in the traditional sense, this is a Valentine to us from our Lord.  This column was reproduced with permission of the people of "Today's Word with Joel and Victoria Osteen."  It is full of wisdom.

I still suffer from this terrible migraine, and I can barely see the screen.  But, I hope you will look at your relationships with other people, and see if you and they describe love as it is described below.  More importantly, do you live it that way?  Where can you best improve on how you love?  And, how you are loved.  Take the description, line by line and see if that is how you show your love and the love of Christ to others.

I thank you for your prayers as of late. And, I know Joan is starting to mend also.  Please let us know if you have a prayer request.  We are honored to pray for you.  Aren't we each supposed to carry each other's burdens? Yes, we are! This is one of the ways that I like to do this.  You may want to think about it.

Also, I have been replying to each comment...in the comment section.  So, if you have left a comment, please be sure to look back in that section and see how I have replied.

It seems that Google is cancelling the Followers portion of the blogs.  If you enjoy this blog, you may want to sign up as soon as possible.  I will make a manual list of the emails that are listed on your Blogger's Profile, and keep you up to date anonymously when we post.

What would be even better would be for you to put your email in the subscription box on the top area of the right side of the blog.  If you do this, it will send you an email copy of each post.  You will usually want to click on the blog name on the subscription so that you can enter the He IS Able blog's Weekly Card Set Give-Away!  You will be randomly chosen from the comments, and then the number of cards 1-5 will be randomly chosen each week also!  You can also leave prayer requests, pray for others, or leave your thoughts on the post...or on anything on your mind.

I am going to be in the process of making many cards with Scriptures on the cover for our future give-aways.  I would love it if you would let me know your favorite Scripture...from anywhere in the Bible...and I will make a few cards with it on it.  That way you have a good chance of receiving the card with your favorite Verse on it when your name is drawn and announced on Wednesdays!  Just leave a comment, question, prayer request in the comment section before Tuesday 8pm to be eligible.  *I can currently only mail cards to Continental US addresses.  We LOVE the rest of our guests, but I can not afford the postage on my own.  We are glad EVERYONE is here! If you are interested in making cards with a Biblical theme, Verse, images you decide...please put them in a plastic bag, include an envelope for each card and mail them to:

And, now the column by Victoria and Joel Osteen:

The Greatest Love of All
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love”
(1 Corinthians 13:13, NKJV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
In our culture today, so many people are confused about what love is. We love pizza, movies and sports, but we also love our family or spouse. If we look to the Word of God, we see God’s definition of love. First Corinthians 13 tells us that “love is patient and kind. It does not envy, nor boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It does not seek its own way, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices in the truth. Love believes, hopes and endures. Love never fails.” This is how God responds to us, and this is how we should respond to the people in our lives — with patience, kindness, hope, humility and love. Scripture tells us that God is love, and His character never changes!
Today and every day, know that God loves you with an everlasting love. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is for you and has a good plan for you. Receive His perfect love today and let Him transform you from the inside out. His love is the greatest love and will last throughout all eternity!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for doing a work in my life. Help me to be more like You. Help me to see others the way You see them and respond in love because You are love. I bless You and honor You today in Jesus’ name. Amen.

    1. Thank you for sharing that wonderful thought. I may not FEEL it every day, but I know He loves us unconditionally daily--whether I am feeling open to it, or not!

Happy Valentine's Day to you, also!

  2. Well... I am a bit behind in my blog reading! I am quite taken by the first part of the devotional which says that "so many people are confused about what love is. We love pizza...." and so on. I use the word "love" so casually, just like is statee - "I love pizza, rubber stamping, singing, etc.". My goal is to replace the word "LOVE" with enjoy where it is more appropriate, and save "LOVE" for God and the people in my life.

    1. I am so glad you are back to reading the blogs! I think you have a fabulous idea...change the word "love" for God and our loved ones...and use "enjoy", "like", other words like this for the lesser things in life...yes, this would include even chocolate!

      Thanks for being here!

  3. This is the Bible verse that popped for me today! When this happens I know that it is the Holy Spirit giving me a nudge. Praying for everyone!

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
