So, how many of you have made a Birthday Card for our Challenge?  Thank you so much!  If you haven't put a card together yet...you still have a little over 2 weeks...of course you
can send more than one card!  Here is the deal, and there is
a NEW ADDITIONAL PRIZE!

*Michele's Big Birthday Challenge for Dad*

Michele G. has been such a huge part of this blog, from before it was even a blog!  She would never allow me to give her as much credit for what she has done for this blog...but, if I did, you would be astonished!  I would do whatever I could to thank her in this way! And, knowing Michele, I am sure her Dad is a wonderful, fun, (baseball-loving) man!  Please share and show your Christian love, by sending her Dad a card!  I know that this means so much to Michele, and I am certain it would be so wonderful for him.

Who:   Everyone! You and anyone else you can tell!  Please write
"He IS Able" on the back of the card, or under your signature...so we can include you in the challenge!

What:  Michele wants her dear Dad to be blessed by your birthday cards! His Birthday...his 75th birthday, is this November. She is asking you to make/send a birthday card(s)  for this Godly man, who had suffered a stroke 6 years ago, and has been challenged this year.

Where:  Please mail birthday cards to:
Al Ostrander
4057 Circle Street
Milford, PA 18337

When:   Deadline is November 15th

How:  Michele's Dad will be photographed with all of the cards received by November 15th. He will then choose his favorite card! The person who sent this card will win the "Great Goody Bag" from Michele! She says this, "I so really want to bless dad and I would love to bless someone else with a neat goody bag!"

And, there is an Additional Prize to the already "Great Goody Bag!"  The
He IS Able blog has been given permission to donate 10 cards and envelopes to the winner of this challenge!  Things just keep getting better!  If you don't mind, would you please let us know if you made a card, in the comment section?

 ************************************************************

As you know, we're on our Third Section of our 4 Part Series on MERCY!  This is one of those things that Michele has done for me, but more importantly for you!  She put together this whole series on mercy, because I just haven't been well, and she knows how merciful He is.  (I am still sick.  But I am winning...it is going away.)

Do you take God's Mercy for Granted?

Rom 1:32  "Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."

Do you every feel a slip on your lips or in your actions? Backsliding? Do you ever feel that you are doing something that He would not like?   But, for that split second do you know because the Holy Spirit reminds you of this? Do you consider doing something that the people of the world would think of as a little thing?  Well, do you ever think, oh, well, one little "word" or "action" isn't that big of a deal?  And, say or do it again?

This is what the Bible says:  "Don't be under any illusion; you can not make a fool of God!  A man's harvest in life will depend entirely on what he shows. Gal. 6:7

Could it be any clearer? The Bible is very clear on this.

Occasionally, God chooses not to grant us mercy; for the purpose of judgment, discipline, or testing.  Fortunately, most often this is not what He will do.  For the time being, God has shown incredible patience and mercy by withholding most of the effects of our sins.

Romans 11:22 reads, "You must try to appreciate both the kindness and the strict justice of God.  Those who fell experienced the justice, while you are experiencing his kindness, and will continue to do so as line as you do not abuse the kindness..."

Ex 33:19  ..."I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

Ps 103.8 "The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love...He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgression from us?  As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him, for He knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust."

I think if we are all honest with ourselves, we will have a big sigh of relief! God is good!   And, He is just. God shows us love and patience.  And, Mercy!

Let's each praise Him for being so merciful!  For what He has done in your life.  Let's thank Him for who He is, and who He is teaching us to be!  Let's thank Him for His Word.  Show your gratitude to the Lord with your voice! Sing a Joyful song to the Lord.  There are many ways to show Him we love Him...just join in!

If you enjoy this blog, please leave even a short comment.  It is the only way I know that anyone is reading this.  And, I love doing this blog!  It is my dream ministry, as I shared on our first post in June.  And, you could let us know if you have already sent your card in, or are making it this week, and mailing it later...or tell us anything you would like!

Leaving a comment does make you eligible to receive the Card of the Week!
As long as your comment is received by Tuesday evening at 8pm...your name MAY be randomly chosen to win the card on the side of the blog, with an extra envelope, and postage!  Thanks again for your comment!

CHALLENGE! Cards by Traci Day!

Hi Everyone~

Hoping you are planning something fun to do this weekend! And,  I
hope it reminds people of who you are in the Lord!  We are supposed to go north a few hours, and see our son and daughter-in-law, and our 3 grand children.  The eldest is having a birthday celebration! And, the younger boys are 4 and 2 years-old!  I however, am not contagious...but am still so sick.  I have no energy.  I did find some cards from the SCS VSN and one I made today, to show you.

I made this card Thursday afternoon, it is the only card I have made since the VSN at SCS.  It is for the Our Daily Bread Designs weekly challenge #34.  We were challenged to make a card using black, kraft and one other color only.  I chose silver, and the birds flying on the top of the card, are indeed silver color!  I really like this color combo.  I may use it for the Sympathy Cards I need to get out.  I haven't even started them yet!

I love coloring this stamp with my water color pencils...only I don't add the water! They blend so smoothly.  I made these lilies for the SSIC#60, or the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #60.  The topic was prayer...and as you probably know...I love this Scripture.  And, I pray it a lot!  Including praying it for you!  Thank you SO much for being here!

OK---I can not fight this computer any longer today.  I apologize.  I really do.  I can not get any other photos to upload from SCS or from Kodak Gallery...where I usually get the pictures.  So, if you will please bear with me, I will let EMPLOYED DAVE (thank you SOOOOO much for your prayers!) take a look at what went wrong with my computer, ok?

In the mean time, I will give you the URL to each card that I made for SplitCoastStampers (VSN) Virtual Stamping Night.  Please just click on the URL link, and it will take you into my gallery...where you can see what I wrote about each card.  In fact, you will be able to see any card I have made since I started making cards in January!  Please remember, if you want to leave a comment, please leave them here, to be qualified for our "Card of the Week" Challenge~

OK--the first one has a Christmas theme:
(Copy and paste the purple lines and put them where your URL goes to see it.)

The next card challenge, we were asked to make a sky, sunset, sunrise, or middle of the day with some big billowy clouds...

I love making cards like this.  I quite often use them as Sympathy Cards.  I just add a sentiment.  By leaving the sentiment off, I am able to use the card for a variety of  purposes, and I can decide just when that card is needed!

Next up is a card with some of my favorite coloring!  I like this
image a lot!  Here it is...

I thought I would show you my very 1st card here at SCS,
 and with stamping...Get ready...

Again, I hope the computer never acts up like this again!  I will ask Dave to figure it out, and if able, I will fill the URL links with the photos of the card.
If you look at the URL, and read directly below it, it will tell you what I used, what it was made for...and other details.

Now is your chance to make a card really count!  Please take part in our Current Challenge, posted by Michele G.

CHALLENGES!!! Mercy Part 2 of 4 Series!

Hi Everyone~

I can't wait to get over the flu!  I hope you are all feeling well, enjoying your days, and having them centered around our Lord, Jesus the Christ.  I'm sorry these posts are so late.  I just woke up after 11am!  You know you are still ill, when more than half of the day goes by before you even see the sun!  So, if you haven't already, I suggest you get your flu shots!  I couldn't, by the time I stopped to get one, I was already showing symptoms of being ill.

Big Day Today:  2 winners for the "Card of the Week" random drawing!
                            More on His Amazing Mercy
                            Michele's Big Birthday Challenge!!

On Monday, we learned the meaning of mercy as it relates to grace.

Mercy--not getting what you do deserve/withheld punishment.

Grace--getting what you don't deserve/unmerited favor.

I want to remind you that Michele G. put all of these notes together for me, because I have not been up to studying, and just putting it in the computer  wears me out. So a BIG THANK YOU to Michele! I really appreciate you, and also that special, caring heart of yours.

Who Needs Mercy?

"What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins have deserved...Shall we again break your commands?"  Ezra 9:13

In Romans, it tells how both Jew and pagan sinned and forfeited God's glory, and both are justified through the free gift of His grace by being redeemed in Christ Jesus who was appointed by God to sacrifice his life so as to win reconciliation through faith.  In this way, God makes His justice known; first, for the past, when sins went unpunished because He held his hand, then,  for the present age, by showing positively that He is just, and that He justifies everyone who believes in Jesus.  So what becomes of our boasts?  There is no room for them...

1 Tim 1:13  "Even though I used to be a blasphemer and did all I could to Mercy, however, was shown me, because until I became a believer I had been acting in ignorance."

So, do you receive mercy from the Lord?  Do you deserve mercy for your sins?  It isn't based on what we may or may not have done.  This is a gift from our loving Lord who remains patient with us!  Praise Him!

Take a look at this:

1 Tim 1 :15-16  "I realize that I was the worst of them all, and that because of this very fact God was particularly merciful to me.  It was a demonstration of the extent of Christ's patience towards the worst of me, to serve as an example to all who in the future should tryst him for eternal life."

Let's pray, use your own words if you like, I am using mine.  " Thank You, Lord Jesus for being so merciful to me.  Even though I don't deserve it.  Thank You for witholding the punishment I deserve for my sins.  I will try my best Lord, to not repeat these sins again.  Lord, you know how difficult it is for me to turn away from sin.  I want to give it all to You.  At this time,  I want to give this particular sin ____________ (name one), to You.  I place it in your hand, and I pray that You will take away my stubborn nature to try to take it back, and sin again.  Lord, I praise You for being so merciful!  I thank You for being who You are!  I thank You for Your grace.  I thank You for second and third and tenth chances!  I love You Lord.  I am so grateful that You love me. I pray all of this, in Your Powerful and Merciful name, the name of Jesus.   Amen."

"Card of the Week Winners"

Today, we are celebrating "TWO Card of the Week Winners!!!"  Last week we did not have a comment chosen to win this random drawing, because I was unable to type the blog post.  Again, I apologize.  However, that means we will randomly choose 2 people to win the Card of the Week, as well as an extra envelope and postage!  The first comment chosen will win the card on the sidebar.  The second person will win a card that is just as beautiful!  But, it will be a surprise, until she opens it!  You have until next Tuesday at 8pm, to mail me your mailing address, (within the continental US.)  If for some reason, you do not want the card, please do not email me your snail mail address.  It is that simple!  And, for everyone, please leave a comment this week!  It will really help cheer me up after being ill for over 2 weeks already!  I would love to hear your thoughts on His Mercy, or any other topic!

Ok--The Winner of the Beautiful Card that has been on the side bar is...

                                 Beebeebabs!!  Congratulations!

And, the other winner of the "Card of the Week" is...
                                                   Amy Johnson!!

Congratulations, again,  Amy!  Please email me your mailing address.  Actually, I have it, but please send it so that I know that you would like it!  Gorgeous card!

This was the comment that won Amy this card:
"Sorry to hear that you have been ill! I will pray for you!

October 22, 2010 10:21 AM"

I thank both of you for your comments and prayers.  It means the world to me!

The "New Card of the Week" is made by a woman named Joan.  This card was chosen to be this week's card because of all of the pink on this card!  Do you remember the first post of this month?  It was how the color pink represents Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I gave you this link to click on daily for at least this month.  When you go to this site and click...it means that the advertisers will donate even more to allow women who can not other wise afford it to get their Free  Mammograms.  So, Joan, I thank you for this beautiful brown and PINK card.  It is beautiful with the butterfly being double stamped, and the beautiful pink ribbon on the card!  I love what the sentiment reads:  "Happiness Always."  It makes me think of life in Heaven.  What does it make you think of?

Please click on one of those links and "click it" so someone who needs a mammogram can receive one for free!

If any of you do not know that you will have "Happiness Always" after you die, and you want to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, now and in your after life, and that guarantee of "Happiness" after life.  I ask you to email me, or call a Christian friend, or call a church, and tell them that you are ready to receive Jesus Christ into your life.  I am certain that person will pray with you, and you will become a  child of the King of all Kings in that moment!  If the person leading you in prayer needs a little help, go back to the post on October the 10th...there you will find the Romans Road to Salvation.  It will walk you through the steps that you need to know and agree with to be Saved!  I am so happy for you.  Please let me know all about it!

I thank each one of you for being here today!  I hope you will leave a comment...tell me what you think about the Lord's mercy...or anything else that you would like to share.

Friday, will be "Cards by Traci" day, if I feel up to making any!  And, Monday will be another segment of our series on mercy...Wednesday, too!  I hope you will all be here on Monday!  Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!

I would LOVE to have every Monday be a day that you share on the blog!  Any questions?  Want to reserve a day in Honor or In Memory of Someone...email me.  I will help you if you need it, or I will stay away, and enter exactly what you emailed me.  It is a unique way to Serve Him, AND it ministers to everyone's hearts...Christians get more excited, and it could bring non-Christians to the Lord.  They read this blog, also.  I am grateful for everyone that stops by.  Please let me know if you have introduced someone to the Lord (that would be a wonderful topic to share), or if you have shared this blog, or posted our badge and URL on your blog.  I would love to know!

I appreciate each of you so much.  And, I do pray for you.

As Always:

Mercy Series Part 1 of 4 ... 2 CHALLENGES!! Prizes!

Hi Everyone~

Thank you for coming back to the He IS Able blog today!  I apologize for  being unable to post last week.  I was really ill!  I am still feeling very ill. I thank all of you that prayed for me and sent me birthday wishes.  It was a wonderful day, making cards and praising the Lord--in between naps! Thank you from my heart.   Fortunately, I have friends who are so good to me.  Michele G. took it upon herself to put this entire series on mercy together, so that I could rest!  Now is she a friend to be thankful for?! Oh, yes, she is!  "I always thank God for you."  I Corinthians 1:4  Michele, you will never know how much this means to me.  And, not only did Michele put together this series on mercy, she also is providing a CHALLENGE where the winner will win a "Neat Goody Bag" from her.  And, I know when she says "Neat"...she means worth-while! More details on this after the post on mercy.

"...Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.  But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved."  Eph 2:3-5

Let's take a look at the meaning of mercy as it relates to grace:

1. Mercy--not getting what you do deserve or withheld punishment.

2. Grace--getting what you don't deserve or unmerited favor.

Mercy is like a judge finding you guilty, but then withholding any punishment. Grace is getting something you could never have imagined. An inexplicable gift. It's like the same judge awarding you $10,000,000. after finding you guilty!

"...I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."  Ex 33:19

God forgives all confessed sin.  By grace we are saved and "put right with" Him.  But will He intervene to withhold earthly consequences?  Will He show mercy?  How many times?  Even after we know better?  Let's look through Scripture to see why, when, and if God doesn't give some of us what we deserve.

Lam 3:39 states "Why should any living man complain when punished for his sins?"

Jer 21:13 "I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the Lord."

Num 32:23 "...You may be sure your sin will find you out."

Is God ineffective at making "sure our sin finds us out? Are we really getting away with it? Can we continue to count on God's mercy if we remain unrepentant?

When We See Just How Far God Will Go...

Think of how much mercy God has given us. Most people have never contracted herpes, AIDS, or gotten pregnant our of wedlock! Most have miraculously avoided accidents we deserved due to reckless, inattentive, even drunk driving. And So on. God's angels must be working overtime administering His mercy.

1 Timothy 5:24 "Remember that some men's faults are obvious, and are equally obviously bringing them to judgment. The sins of other men are not apparent, but are dogging them, nevertheless, under the surface.

Job 33:27-30 "...I sinned and perverted what was right, but I did not get what I deserved. He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light of life. God does all these things to a man--twice, even three times--to turn back his soul from the pit, that the light of life may shine on him."

And, take a look at Proverbs 28:13:  "He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."

Wow!  Isn't His mercy amazing?  On Wednesday, we will continue sharing about mercy.  We will start with taking a look at how vast and amazing His mercy will go!

MERCY on Monday! 2 "Card of the Week" winners on Wednesday!

Hello Everyone~

Starting Monday we will chat about Mercy!  It is amazing information put together by my friend, Michele G.  She knows that I am so ill.  And, that
there really is no way for me to be studying and trying to type.  Thank you, Michele G!  Michele is a person who thinks of your needs before you even know you needed anything.  I thank you so much Michele!  My doctor told me that I will not be completely well for about a month.  But, the antibiotics will make me noncontagious some time tomorrow!  So--I will happily be here on Monday!

I apologize for not being up to sitting up long enough to type or study for this blog!  It's the kind of thing where your head feels like it is very deep underwater...you can't hear...your eyes are stinging and you can hardly see.  And, you can just forget breathing through your nose!  LOL

On Monday, my husband typed for me, because I couldn't see the screen or keys.  (It is still like that. I am being tediously careful.)   I will attempt to post some cards tomorrow.  How wonderful it felt to have my husband, Dave, who I love so much, who is still an Atheist,(so far) writing what I asked him to write in the Christian blog I write to Glorify the Lord!

Feel free to invite your friends to come read about His Mercy that He bestows on us!  It is truly amazing.  Michele and I are going to break it up into sections.  (Smaller posts for you!)  You will not want to miss any!

Oh, since I did not post on Wednesday, we did not draw for the He IS Able
"Card of the Week."  I will take ALL the comments from last week and those posted until Tuesday at 8pm...I will choose 2 winners!  So, please go back and read, or just share your thoughts, or say hello, or what you would like to see on the blog...leave any comment you would like --to be entered in the 2 Drawings for "2 Cards of the Week!!" to be announced on Wednesday!

So, I thank you all for your patience.  Things will be back to "normal" on Monday!  I can't wait until then.  I hope you will continue visiting the He IS Able blog.  I am going to work at having a plan for times when I am ill, so that you are not left coming here to nothing.  I do apologize.  This blog, and the people who read it, or support it any way are very important to me.  Thank you for understanding. I truly appreciate each of you.

Feel free to put our badge on your page.  It will not bring them directly to this blog.  (Someone is working on that!)  So, we just think it is best to caption the URL to the badge!  Please take them, and post them, and encourage your readers to post it on their blog!   Thank you so much!!

Scriptures on Loneliness & Traci's Cards

Good Morning!

Happy Friday! I can not believe another week has simply flown by! Does it seem like the weeks are just passing by? It does to me. Has anyone used the Romans Road this week? Is anyone still clicking on the Breast Cancer Site? Remember, when you click on the button, the advertisers donate money for free mammograms who need it?

It is Friday, and that means it is Traci's Card Day, here at the He IS Able Blog. I do want to share a few Scriptures with you that are just on my heart to share today.  All three share about how close God is to us. He is with us through everything. He doesn't give up when things go astray! He will not leave nor forsake us!

"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

Psalm 46:1 reads: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

And lastly, "And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you." Psalm 9:9-10

I didn't have as much time to make cards this week, since the beginning of the week we were getting home from Maryland, and Tuesday, I was recovering from exhaustion. Now, some of the cards I made this week:

This card was made for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #50!  I am so happy to have this stamp set...it is a former Stampin' Up set of multiple stamps called Terrific Tulips.  The flower is actually made from 3 different stamps. I love the background paper!  So sparkly!  We were asked to make a paper craft with melon, white and green for this challenge.  I think that I often make CAS (Clean and Simple) cards.  Is it still CAS if the entire background is glimmering?

This card was made for several challenges!  It is for the Color Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts  (CPC). It fulfilled the request from the  Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, of making a thank you note Our Daily Bread Designs has a weekly challenge...they asked us to make cards with leaves on it!  And, over at SplitCoastStampers (SCS), they had a new Technique Challenge!  We were instructed to wet down a sheet of paper with water, and stamp with water based ink on the stamps.  The water feathers the areas that are still wet...and makes it look more like a watercolor painting in areas!  This is so much fun and so  easy.  When I was a child I used to  put water on papers and water color rainbows...or just put dots of water color paint on the wet areas.  I had no idea I was making my own designed paper!  LOL

I made this card in under 2 or 3 minutes.  I used these small dowel stamps from Judith's Stamps.  I loved the combination of colors...we were asked to use hot pink, turquoise, dark rust and chocolate chip for that week's PDCC#49!  The chocolate chip is the basket, the hot pink, turquoise and dark rust were used in the flowers.  The strip of paper is the closest color I had to dark rust...and the background is hot pink.  I love this little card.  It goes in the opposite direction of all of my cards!  It opens like a very wide book...left to right...and opens on the right side.  I like this shape.  And, all of these cards are A2 size.

I hope that you have enjoyed this week's posts.  I would really love to read your comments on this week's writing...I have only received one comment in almost 2 weeks.  I know you are out there...I am wondering if I am doing something differently...and if there is something you would like changed...please leave a comment or email me.  My email is on the side bar!
You are important to me.  I want you to enjoy and be blessed by this blog.  I want you to participate in this blog if possible.  I am sure if you asked the people who shared, if they were blessed by the experience they would all say, "Yes, I was blessed by sharing about my Lord!"  So, please think about it.  I really would like your input!  I hope you will stop by on Monday!

Praise Him! And, Have a Thankful Heart! // Winner Announced!

Hi Everyone~

I hope you are having a fantastic week!  Have you been busy spending time with the Lord?  I have been so joyful since we were up in Maryland for this long weekend!  It was so wonderful to go to church with a family member.  I went with Dave's Dad.  He is such a wonderful man.  Such a Godly man.  I am so honored to be a part of his family. They are each wonderful--in their own way!  "I always thank God for you."  1 Corinthians 1:4

Now, for any of this to make sense, you need to remember that I go to church via the Internet.  My church sends the service "Live" so I can worship with them.  And, they also send it as a recorded message in the newsletter.  (Which I have posted on the side bar.)  I am so blessed that they do this...because, it is a 45 minute drive to Northland Church, and I don't drive, and I can not sit for long amounts of time. When you consider the 45 minutes each way, the 15 minutes of standing in the lobby, the 1 hour long service...it adds up to a lot of sitting.  And, a lot of sitting really impacts the amount of pain I will have. It is much worse. So, I participate from home.  Also, on Wednesdays, they have a Question and Answer session for anyone...and again...it is set up so that people all around the world who have Internet can participate.  We type in our questions, as the Congregation in the Sanctuary are writing theirs...and our lead Pastor answers them to the best of his ability.  Isn't that cool?  It's like an oral exam on everything in the Bible, plus questions about how we live our lives...we could ask just about anything.  I love that!

Well on this past Sunday, my Father-in-Law and I went to church in one of the buildings they have in this enormous and beautiful retirement campus.  We didn't go to the Chapel, where he usually attends.  I just couldn't get up that early...I was exhausted from the trip...and, my medications were working hard on me.

Well, the service we went to was in a building where most of the people are in their 90's and are in wheel chairs, or they were wheeled around in their beds.  I have had to use a cane for most of the 12+ years since I was injured.  Just recently, I have given it up.  I tell you that these people were still making a joyful noise to the Lord!  Those that could, found some way to Praise Him!  They clinked their rings on the metal part of their chair or bed. They read along slowly...but they read along, when we were asked to read!  I was so blessed by this service, with the old hymns.  The words were beautiful. They had residents from the other buildings come and sing the hymns...I don't think we would normally call all of the noise in this room a  joyful noise.  But, I am sure He does!

And, no one stood up.  I wasn't sure of this at first.  I figured we all praise Him as we can.  But, no, in wheelchair etiquette you don't stand when most of the people can't.  It felt so awkward not to stand at certain points.  It was a great awareness for me.  I now know a way to make people in wheel chairs feel a bit less ostracized when we sit together.

I learned so much just by showing up!  I'm not even going into what the actual service was about!  This all happened within the first few moments.

So, do you sing out when you are in church? Or do you mouth the words or whisper? Don't worry if you have a voice that is musically challenged! You are singing to Him...not your neighbors or the Pastor. Try singing praise to Him while you are cleaning...pick a tune...like row, row a boat...and put your praise into that tune...or your prayer requests for others. If it helps you remember Him...then it works! Do your knees still support you well? Then use them to bend at the knee and Praise Him! Can you drive? How about picking up someone who wants to go to church, but can not drive for one reason or another? You will be blessed, I am sure. (If you are a teen--please make sure you check with Mom or Dad...first!)

I think it would be a blessing to you and the residents if you went to a local nursing home, and went to one of their church services...if they are held on the premises at all. You will realize so many blessings in your life. And, you will realize how the Lord used the elderly in the Congregation to teach us even more about having a thankful & giving heart.

I feel so blessed to be walking...slowly...but I am walking!  And, I praise the Lord for that!  I can shout to the Lord...I have a voice so that I can thank Him!  I can even sing to the Lord a new song...now this is a bit more iffy... I have a voice, to human ears it isn't sweet...but I think that the way that He hears it...it must sound good.  After all, He continues to let me sing to Him.  I am able...because He IS Able!  And, I thank Him for that...for all that He is...and for all that He does for us...and for how he loves us so much.

The Winner of the He IS Able Weekly Card Challenge is...

Romans Road to Salvation! What to say when someone is looking for Jesus.

Hi Every One~

I hope that you had a fantastic weekend!  I am in beautiful Maryland visiting some family and enjoying the gorgeous weather.  It is sunny and breezy and about 75 degrees today!  Perfect!  (I wonder what it will be like when I read Florida again tomorrow?!)

Do you want a great tool to lead others to the Lord?  Have you heard about the Romans Road to Salvation Technique?  Romans Road is a way to share about our need of Salvation, how God provided Salvation, how we can receive Salvation, and what the results of Salvation are.  When using this technique, it is best to go ahead and mark your pages in your Bible, or memorize the Verses so that you will actually be able to point to the Verse if you have your Bible with you.  The first part states:

"For we all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
 Romans 3:23

We have all sinned.  We have all done things that are not pleasing to God.  No one is innocent.  We have all lied, or gossiped, or been envious...come on...you have sinned before...there is a sense of freedom in admitting it to the Lord. We
ALL have sinned!

The second step is this Verse:
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

This Verse teaches us about the consequences of sin.  Death is the punishment for our sins!  Isn't that something?  And, not even physical death is enough! Sinners will have eternal death...a seperation from God!

KEEP READING!!There is good news in the next line!

Romans 5:8 states "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

He died for you!  And Jesus died for me, too.  He died for our ancestors, and for people to come still.  Jesus  died to pay the penalty for our sins.  The price for our sins was paid by Jesus' dying on the cross. It is one of the worst documented ways to die.  It involves every muscle and every part of your being is aware that you are literally being torn limb by limb.

Romans 10:9, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be Saved."

Jesus Christ offers this as a GIFT! All we need to do is believe!  Have Faith!  He rescued us from eternal death!  He made it possible for us to spend eternity in Heaven with Him...no pain, no sorrows! This is a GIFT and not something that could be done due to our actions...not in anyway!  The ONLY way to have that peace, and eternity in Heaven is through Jesus Christ.   How much better could it be?  IT COULDN'T.   That's the point.

Romans 10:13 states it in a different way.  It states, "for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be Saved."

Salvation, the forgiveness of sins is available to anyone anywhere, who will put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Will you today?  Have you already?

Romans 5:1 has this beautiful message:  "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. We will have a relationship with God!  We will spend eternity with Him.  Now and in Heaven.

We were given this promise from God:  "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels not demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height not depth, nor anyting else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 8:38-39

Saying the following prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your Salvation.  The words do not save you.  Nothing we do saves us.  It is a gift.  ONLY faith in Jesus Christ will give Salvation!

Here is a simple prayer you can pray to God, if you would like to follow the Romans Road to Salvation.

"God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment.  But Jesus Christ took the pinishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven.  With your help, I place my trust in You for Salvation.  Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness--the gift of eternal life!  Amen!"

If you have just prayed that prayer or one like it, you are now a child of the Lord of Lords, and the King of Kings!  Please email me and let me know, my email is on the sidebar.  I will get a Bible for you to have.  I will also suggest that you go visit a church that teaches directly from the Bible.  And, I would like to introduce you to a few other Christians through the internet, so that you can have them pray for you, or with you, and they will help you with your walk with Jesus.  Congratulations!

Isn't it all amazing when you read it all out?  Do you realize how fortunate you are to know the Lord?  Or do you possibly take it for granted...like it's "old hat" for you... maybe you could rededicate your life and your love to the Lord? Or you could share with some Christian friends or your Pastor how you are feeling.  I hope that you will let me know if that is how you are feeling...I want to be a cheerleader for Jesus Christ. If you are not feel encouraged by what I write here...I would like to know.  I would greatly appreciate that.  I would love to help you put Jesus in the center of your life again.

I hope that you will pray for the courage to share the Romans Road to Salvation to someone this week!  You may be the only chance they have to hear about this wonderful gift!

Guest Card Maker! Praise Report!

Hi Everyone~

What a great day!  I am up north visiting my family.  The weather is so beautiful.  It is around 72 and gorgeous.  Much better than the heat we are still having in Florida!  And, there is no humidity here!  I am so happy to get to visit my family!

I have a unique item for my Gratitude list today!  I LOVE washing my teeth with ice cold water!!  Oh, it is so much better than with room temp. or warmer than that.  Oh, thank you Lord, for cold water!  What have you been praising Him for lately?   Just the BIG things?  Just the little things?  Everything?  How about sharing one thing...let's have a Praise Report today in our comment section!

I told you that we would have a guest card maker today.  This isn't going to be a regular thing, I just wanted to share another wonderful person with you. I have been saving up cards for months for this day!

I have a niece who I love so much. She has been making cards lately! We are exchanging cards now. Can you believe she is only 8-years old? Amazing, isn't it? Can you believe that she shared HER stamps and GAVE me some of her very cool fabric! She is such a wonderful niece!  So generous.

Isn't this amazing!  Look what she did with this ribbon.  The horse is one of her awesome stamps.  I love how well she matched the ribbon to her markers.

This girl definitely loves peace!  And, I love this artist.  I am holding on to her cards, I could  see her being  a famous artist in the future!

This card just really amazed me!  I gave her a stamped image of my lily stamp.  She did a fabulous job coloring it with her markers.  I told her a teeny bit about shading, and using 2 colors that are close together. The whole lecture on shading was about 30 seconds...
Look how well she put it to use!  I am so proud of her.  Love, how she made it her own by adding leaves!

She is now starting to dabble in water color pencils!  I can't wait to see what is next.

The Monday post may be late getting in.  I may be writing it from the airport.  I am not sure.  I hope you will stop in, however.  I have an important topic to share with you.

Have a blessed weekend!  I am so excited...I may even get to wear a sweater!  Please remember to list an item of Praise in the comment section...or any other comment!

"Click It!" / Matthew 8:16 & 17/ Winner Announced for "The Card of the Week!"

Good Morning, Everyone~

I hope that you all had a wonderful World Card Making Day!  Did you actually take the time to celebrate and make some cards?  I had a blast doing just that for almost the entire weekend!  Mark your calendar now...so you can carry it to next year's calendar.  October 2nd....World Card Making Day!

Today you will find:
  • Matthew 8:16 & Matthew 8:17
  • The He IS Able "Card of the Week" Winner
  • Click "IT" and "Think Pink!"

Last week we shared about the Great Physician! I was truly blessed by reading your comments. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with me and our other readers.

This is October, and I would like to share an unusual event for Card Makers, as well as an incredible organization where you can make a difference every day and not even spend a penny! What subject am I talking about? Breast Cancer! First of all, let me say in the most loving way possible...
GO GET YOUR MAMMOGRAM!  (If you haven't done so this year.)

Now, don't put your guard up...this is an upbeat message! First a Scripture.

"When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick."  Matthew 8:16

Now, go back and just re-read the last 3 words. "all the sick." Think about that...a world with no illness. Let's continue...

"This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
'He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.'"  Matthew 8:17

Wouldn't it be amazing if we actually had a world with no disease in it? Could that even happen? You bet it could happen! The Bible tells us so...then it is so! This is what my Life Application Bible says about these 2 Verses:

"Jesus has authority over all evil powers and all earthly disease. He also has power and authority to conquer sin. Sickness and evil are consequences of living in a fallen world. But, in the future, when God removes all sin; there will be no more sickness and death. Jesus' healing miracles were a taste of what the whole world will one day experience in God's Kingdom!"

Until then what can we do? Pray! Like I have said before...I believe prayer is the answer to any question!

Do you know about The Breast Cancer Site? You go to their link...you click on the tab daily. The Sponsors then pay for mammograms. If you shop in their incredible Fair Trade Store, the sponsors give more. And, if you share it with your friends...it is multiplied to help so many people!

Every day, I spend about 20-30 seconds helping 6 very important organizations. They don't send me mail. They don't hassle me. I help give food to the hungry, get mammograms to women who can't afford them,  I help improve children's health--by clicking and the sponsor's supply special eye drops which will allow children to see, and they save lives of children.  I help increase literacy, I save land in the rain forests of the world, and I help "rescued" animals. All in 20-30 seconds!  WOW!! I click 6 times... and it helps here in the States and around the world. Will you please go to their site after you read this, and click? I made these sites (they are grouped together) my home page. I turn on my computer and help others.  What a great way to start the day!  If you want more info on the organizations...after you click...arrow down on the 2nd page. You will be making such a difference by doing this.  What a difference it makes! I challenge you to "click" for the month of October...and if you decide that it is too much for you to do, after the month...go ahead and stop. I think you will like helping in this very simple way. I do.  (If you are willing to commit to clicking for the month of October, and want to state it...use the comment section!  (It can be used for other comments, too!)

The Winner of the He IS Able "Card of the Week" is...

Tigger652!
Congratulations!

Tigger652, please send me your mailing address (My email is on the right side of the blog.) before Tuesday evening at 8pm.  If I do not receive it by then, you will forfeit winning this incredibly beautiful card made by Janaria.  Tigger652, if you do not want the card, for some reason, simply do not send me your mailing address.  Please continue to participate in the blog, however!

We have a wonderful card for our new "Card of the Week!"  It is pink!  It is made and donated by the wonderful, Phyllis aka sparkleplenty1000 over at SplitCoastStampers!  This card is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.  If you see Phyllis over at SCS, let her know how beautiful you think her card is, and let her know you are from the He IS Able blog! All you need to do to win this intricately designed card, is to leave a comment before next Tuesday at 8pm.  If you do that, you will be entered in a random drawing for the gorgeous card, the beautiful envelope and the postage!

There is a special event going on over at SplitCoastStampers!  If you look on the right side of this blog...you will see a "Blinkie" which says "Hope You Can Cling To!"  If you click on it, it will bring you directly to SCS who is partnering with UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by Breast Cancer.  There will be special challenges in the SplitCoastStampers Challenge Forum and Member Company Forums.  Yes, there are prizes! This is such a powerful thing that we could all do.

I challenge each of you to donate at least one encouraging card to the patients and families there.  If you want to publicly commit to making and donating a card for this great cause...go ahead and let us know in the comment section.  We could just call it the "commit" section...instead of comment section.  Just Joking!

So please remember to:
  • CLICK for each day of October!
  • Make a Card following the details over at SCS...just click on the "Blinkie" after you write your comment.  It will take you directly there.
  • If you are willing to commit to either or hopefully both of these activities to help carry the burden of someone else, please let us know in the comment section...and of course...any comment is welcome!
Won't it be wonderful when the day comes and we live where there are no diseases?  I wonder if there will be anything left that we need to click for?

There will be a special guest sharing on Friday! I know it is card day, but I couldn't resist!   Have a wonderful week!  Thank you for being here...and sharing this blog with others!  It is making a difference for His Kingdom!  YOU are making a difference for His Kingdom!

Cards from our 2nd Challenge/ Cards by Traci

Hi Everyone~

I promised to show you the beautiful cards of both of the people who chose to make a card showing or telling of one of the miracles in the Exodus with Moses and the Slaves.  We had 2 people get 10 entries each towards our recent Blog Candy Extravaganza!  Take a look at Janaria and Natalie's wonderful cards!  Thank you for participating in this fun part of the Challenge!

This card was made by Natalie.

This card was made for the challenge by Janaria.

Saturday was World Card Making Day!  I took full of advantage of this most important holiday!  I made cards all day, and it is 10:18 now, and I am starting
to post some of this week's cards here in the blog.  I hope that you had a great time celebrating, too!

I made  this card for the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge to use all white on the card, except to use color for the stamped image.  I used cuttle bug Swiss Dots for the back ground.  A plain white cs from SU! for the large oval, which I paper pierced, and the third oval is made of a string of faux pearls.  The image is from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I love it!  It is my favorite card I have made.

Say Hello to my Dragon!  This is a card that I made for a woman's ministry to give cards to children who have to go through chemo.  On the inside of this bright and glittery card it says, "Heard you are dragon.  Hope your feeling better soon!"  Is that the cutest set or what?  I loved coloring this with my Sakura gels for the raised darker areas.  I used some SU! Markers to color in the wings and belly, and red stickles make the best fire for the fire breathing dragon.

This card was for the Play Date Cafe Challenge (PDCC).  We were to use navy, silver and lime colors.  But, with the photo they showed, we had more options.  Some may have seen silver as grey.  Others may have seen a deep purple rather than navy.  It was up to us to decide which colors to use. Since posting this card, I decided to put this on a navy base for the card.  I love this quote from Nathaniel Hawthorne.  If you don't know, I love to collect quotes.  I often use them on cards.

I love coloring this image in.  I love the combination of ink and colored pencils.  I also used a bit of Hologram Glitter Glue for snow.  It really glistens! I found several bases for this card from last year.  It is the Christmas Red and the white paper cut around it with deckle edge scissors on a diagonal.  It pays never to throw things away!  LOL     I made this for the October Christmas Card Challenge over at SCS!

This card was also made for the CCC10 over at SCS.  This was such a fun and easy card to make!  I have never used this SU! Patterned Pines stamp before.  I will use it a lot now.  I made 10 of these for the month of September.  We each set a goal of how many cards we would need a month to be ready to have them in the mail the first week or so in December.  I chose 10 a month. With the Navy background, the red trees and ribbon and the white layer, (Red, White, and Blue), I thought I may donate these to Operation Write Home.  Let me know if you would like details on this organization.

Wow!  This looks dark here!  I'm so sorry that it looks that way.  For Stampin' Sisters in Christ, we were asked to make an item that has a Christian symbol, or wording to reflect peace.  I stamped this old church on black paper...put that on some Grey and black soft checked pattern, and then I have the Scripture from 1 Corinthians 7:15 "God has called us to live in PEACE."  To me the black on white doesn't look spooky.  It looks calm and peaceful.  I hope that it how it is perceived.

I loved making this card!   Chances are, if you are going to receive a Thank You note from me any time soon, it may look similar to this one! I love this leaf stamp from Botanicals SU!  I was surprised that I liked the So Saffron, ochre & navy together.  I think I am really in a navy blue mood lately!  LOL  We don't get any real autumn here.  I enjoyed thinking of playing in the leaves when I made this card!  One more...

I love this set by  Clear Dollar Stamps!  It also comes with a praying little girl, and a teddy bear and a couple of other items.  The patterned background does not look anything like it does in real life.  It has the exact color of the "wood" in it, and greens and some pinks.  I love this, because it is so simple, so innocent...so pure.  My knees don't let me get down like they used to...but it is just a great reminder to spend time with the Lord several times a day if you can.  I am thinking of putting this image  on a larger card.  All of my cards are A2 in size except for the one with the church.  (I believe that size is A6--larger. ) Any way, I would like to print out some other prayers, and show the children praying  to suit the need of the card.  (For Example:  A Scripture to make it a Sympathy card.  Or something about being created for a birthday!)

Well, that is more than enough for today, I am sure.  The cards are usually posted on Friday...but that went mostly to the Extravaganza Announcement.   I will go back to normal starting Wednesday with a post...maybe you will share something on that day...and on Friday, if I have any other cards, I will post them.  Or maybe I will show off one of my favorite person's cards.
I pray that you will all have a blessed week.  Take time with the Lord.  Please prayerfully consider to share your Testimony, or tell us your favorite verse and why, or make a card for the blog, and walk us through the steps of making it...perhaps with a couple of photos.  Just let me know, so that we can get you the recognition, and we can put the post together.  Just use the email on the sidebar to reach me...anytime!  I would love to know when you post something about this blog on your blog.  I keep a copy in a folder called  ..."Encouragement!"  I take a look when I am not feeling excited enough to write just yet.

Thanks for being here!  Remember, this is your blog.  Send me ideas if there is something you would like to see.

A HUGE thank you to Wendy...again...for adding a button for the blog, helping me learn how to work the sidebar, adding the music, which is located at the bottom of the blog. She spent a few hours on the phone with me Saturday morning...teaching me things about posting.   About the music: You can see what singer is playing, lower or raise the volume...or shut it off.  I leave it on all day, and make cards or do whatever while I am singing along!  Sometimes, I stop what I am doing, and get up and Worship Him right there, in my one square foot of space in my art room!
